You begin the game in the Living Forest where you will be instructed on basic maneuvers, attacks and some brief history. After you have managed to proven yourself in the eyes of your hidden guide you will come to an old wasteland in Outworld and search for Shang Tsung. After finding him he will tell you that if you wish to work for him you must complete six major tasks. These include wiping out the renegade Nomads, fighting off the Vampire people, defeating the intruding Lin Kuei, find a crystal to travel through the realms, assisting Shao Kahn in destroying the rebels from Edenia and finally by retrieving the souls of the four Chosen Ones that are destined to stop Shao Kahn’s rule. Along your journey you will see specific events unfold such as the battle between Goro and Gorak as you move through the Kuatan mines, Sindel’s suicide and even Raiden who will give you the choice of either siding or defying with him. You will fight against various enemies including Nomads, Vampires, Edenians, the ancient Lin Kuei, Raptors, Elementals, Shokan and Centaurs. You have an assortment of weapons to select from such as the battleaxe, spear and a familiar Kurihashi sword. Other locations will include the Portal, Tomb and Pit 2 arenas expanded for your journey. Special attacks include the acid spits (short or long spray), force ball (fast or slow), dash elbow and the lizard roll. Abilities are invisibility, wall crawl and a great transformation that can change you from a ninja into a monster once you have your RAGE full. Once your rage is full you can also perform either limb ripping attacks or a FATALITY where you rip off the heads! But the story will get more interesting as you search for Baru, a Nomad that is seen in certain spots in Outworld to sell gifts and secrets for points.
