How does Twitter slow your browsers down so much on MKO?

Ever since it's inclusion I notice the site has just overall lagged. It could be easily explained away by site traffic, but I usually don't frequent the site until midnight(EST) and after(gotta love that second shift), there's usually no more than 20 or so tops(I know the numbers only reflect actual users and actual visitor count may vary).

Long story short, I didn't notice a major lag until the twitter feed entered the picture.

We'll look into it, but we've already made a fix on Twitter. The only reason it should slow you down would be if Twitter itself was having an issue, and we've already made a fix that disables the feed if Twitter takes too long to respond.
