Def Jam Vendetta and Backyard Wrestling are on that, but WCW/nWo Revenge isn't? I guess they have some sort of minor brain damage/disease.

Smackdown is WAY over-rated. Until recently, the control system really sucked.
No list is complete without WCW vs. nWo: World Tour and WCW/nWo Revenge. They blow WCW Mayhem to smithereens.

I'll only make a list of games I've played:

1: WWE Wrestlemania XIX (I actually like it better than No Mercy. I find that the control system in WMXIX is actually better than the one in No Mercy because it is more fast-paced while still remaining strategic and using a lot of moves. The quality of a wrestling game is very important to me because I don't watch that WWE bullshit anymore (I haven't watched it for more than a year), so I need a damn good wrestling game to satisfy my need for wrestling. Plus, Create-a-Wrestler Mode is one of the best ever; I've created a bad-ass TAKA Michinoku and he's going to become a 5-Time Undisputed Champion !)
2: WWF No Mercy (Remained Champion of Wrestling Games for years in my book, and no SmackDown game looks like it's going to overthrow it. WMXIX is better in terms of graphics, game play and presentation, but NM is still one of the biggest players in the game. The TAKA in this game kicked major ass. Too bad his theme song was incomplete.)
3: WCW/nWo Revenge (The game I still play to continue the legacy of WCW. No matter how much I play it, I never seem to get bored of it.)
4: WCW vs. nWo: World Tour (The one that started it all; first 3-D wrestling game ever made for North America)
5: SmackDown 2: Know Your Role (I almost never liked the control in SD games, but I really like this one for the sole reason that TAKA, Funaki and Essa Rios are all in the game. They all come with their theme songs too !)
6: WWE Raw (Most people say it sucks and it kinda does, but it DOES have Kaientai in it...)

The wrestling games that I really hate are:
-All pre-Legends of Wrestling games made by Acclaim (WWF Warzone, WWF Attitude, ECW Hardcore Revolution, ECW Anarchy Rules). Their gameplay is just horrible. Moves are very limited and look boring. Some of the worst presentation ever in a wrestling game (ex: the audience all look like a group of motionless cardboard cut-outs).
-WCW Backstage Assault. The game that proves WCW's downfall.
-WCW Nitro. Everybody has the same move set. Only thing that differentiates wrestlers is their Trademark Moves and Finishing Moves, which are inaccurate and horribly animated (since when is Kanyon's Finisher a Crucifix Bomb ? And Chris Benoit does the Crippler Crossface standing up ?!)
-Fire Pro Wrestling for the Game Boy Advance. After playing it for 5 minutes, I wanted to return it to the video store. Worst play control EVER in a wrestling game. You'll lose 9 times out of 10 because you can't figure out the bloody controls. Oh, and the opponent takes AGES to pin.
-WWE Wrestlemania X8. Just left a bad taste in my mouth. Very few moves make for tedious, repetitive matches. And the worst Create-a-Wrestler Mode I've ever seen.

* This list is simply my opinion, comments welcome. BTW, I put SvR as number 1, cause, come on, it's going to be number 1.

I highly doubt it, they havent improved anything since HCTP, and the roster in HCTP is soooooooooooooo much better than SvR. Creat a belt and create a PPV don't do half the justice about the shitty roster.

Anyways, mine are:

10)WWF Attitude(PS)
9)WWF Wrestlemania the Arcade game(Arcade, SNES)
8)WCW/NWO World Tour(N64)
7)WWE Smackdown HCTP(PS2)
6)WWF Wrestlemania 2000(N64)
5)WWF No Mercy(N64)
4)WCW/NWO Revenge(N64)
3)WWF Wreslefest(Arcade game)
2)WWF RAW(SNES)
1)WWF Royal Rumble(SNES)

10. WWF Royal Rumbe (Super Nintendo)
9. WWE SD vs. Raw. Not shaping up to be as good as HCTP, but hopefully a new movelist they have been promising (hopefully FINALLY to include the Standing Star Press and the Crossfire, and a decent looking Styles Clash, now that Billy Gunn fu... i mean... does it...)
8. WCW/NWO Revenge. Still a great game, but I'm pissed they didn't include Hannibal (Hayabusa) again. Glad they didn't add Ultimate Warrior like they were planning!
7. WCW/NWO World Tour (Nintendo 64). I ranked it higher than Revenge since it had a character based off the best wrestler ever... HAYABUSA!!!
6. WWF Wrestlemania XIX (Gamecube). I LOVED the story mode. The CAW was awesome, implimenting the paint tool from Animal Crossing. The movelist was lacking a little, but it was a HUGE step up from WMXVIII
5. WWF Wrestlefest (Arcade) Awesome game!
4. WWF Raw (SNES) I remember when this game first came out to SNES. First game to feature both entrance themes and Titantrons (though generic under both descriptions), but the super moves (when I usually HATE stuff like that) were pretty cool. Plus, it included one of my favorite wrestlers ever... OWEN HART!!!
3. Fire Pro Wrestling 2 (Game Boy Advance). Great game, easy to play, and has a HUGLY diverse roster of WWF, WCW, ECW, Japan, Mexico, and Legends. Plus the CAW is incredible by GBA standards!
2. Saturday Night Slam Masters (SNES/Sega Genisis/Arcade). Capcom's take on wrestling... mixing Street Fighter with WWF with awesome results. They REALLY need a sequal!
1. WWF No Mercy (Nintendo 64). THE PREMIER Wrestling game. No questions asked!

That's your opinion. You can't actually judge the game until it comes out. I said I think it'll be number 1. Noone will no for sure until the game comes out. Also, they have actually improved the game quite a bit since HCTP.

False. In WCW/nWo Revenge, the character Han Zo Mon is based on Hayabusa. He does not look as much like Hayabusa as Hannibal does, but he does have Hayabusa's move list (Spinning Falcon's Arrow, Stardust Press, etc.).
Woah, I'm glad that someone actually remembers Hayabusa. He's one of my all-time favorite Japanese wrestlers. He did awesome stuff in the ring. Too bad he broke his neck and can't wrestle anymore...
Anyway, the best wrestler ever is TAKA MICHINOKU !!!

BTW, I have a TAKA Michinoku vs. Hayabusa match from FMW on my computer. If you have KaZaA, you should look for it and download it. One of the best matches I've ever seen, all 15 minutes of it. Download it, it's worth the hassle of looking for it.

You deserve 50 lashes.

They have improved the game mechanics, meaning Stacy can no longer 'Choke-Slam' Big Show.

The story mode is huge, and ur actions will decide ur status (heel/face)

There are voiceovers

The game is online!

You can play as Andre the Giant, Bret Hart, Brutus the Barber Beefcake, etc..

Make another thread tellin me how great I am, as I have just learned ya somethin

Hey Scorp dude... trust me.. it's a character LOOSLY basaed off Hayabusa... like.. QUITE loosly.

I'd say he's more based off the WCW wrestler Blitzkreig, but that's just me...

But I'm shocked to hear another person knows of the skills of one TAKA Michinoku!
And you are right, that Michinoku/Hayabusa match was great! I loved the hundred chair spot where Hayabusa Asai Moonsaulted onto Taka, covered in hundereds of chairs! Too bad he had to close the match with, what I declare to be his worst move, the Falcon Arrow. I'm much more a fan of the H Edge, H Driver, Phoenix Splash... ANYTHING but the Falcon Arrow! I guess Hardcore Holly just tainted my feelings for itwink

Yes, you are correct, that is my opinion, you are talking to me as if I said it was a fact that HCTP will be better than SvR.

1)Already in HCTP

2)Same as above

3)Meh

4)This could be the saving grace, if you're enabled to update rosters, titantrons, entrance songs, and all that, then this game would definately be one of the greatest of all time. It would be awesome too, if you could play a Royal Rumble online with 29 other people. This is one huge difference I agree, but if all it is in one on one, then I don't really care.

5)That's pretty cool, HCTP had legends too, but the SvR legends are 20x better, but it still doesnt make up for the rest of the SvR roster.

6)The only lesson I learned was to never bet on the Lakers again.

Ok, how am I seeing Wrestlemania XIX for the Cube on some people's lists?? The story mode was lacking and didn't make sense, everyone walks like a robot in their entrance, and half the themes were old or bootleg versions. The game visually was great, and the multiplayer was ok at most, but it still pretty much sucked.

With that said, heres my list:
10. Saturday Night Slam Masters (Uber fun game, but it's on the list due to the laughs I get while playing it with my friend Erik)
9. Wrestlmania 2000 (fun, until #2)
8. M.U.S.C.L.E (NES, my first wrestling game ever)
7. WCW vs The World (first time I ever heard of people like Jushin Liger, I was hooked)
6. WCW/NWO World Tour
5. Fire Pro Wrestling (once I renamed all of the charecters with their real names; it only took a few HOURS!)
4. Pro Wrestling
3. WCW Revenge
2. No Mercy
1. Smackdown Here Comes the Pain (also the only Smackdown title I liked, the rest were pretty lame)

Another SNSM fan? Rock rock on, man!

We need to spread the good word about SNSM! The first wrestling game I can think of which included Topei Suicidas, weapons (tables, though they could only be swung like a chair...), and other awesome-ness!

10. WWF Rage in the Cage - Sega CD
First (and to my knowledge only) WWF/WWE game to feature an ending FMV for your wrestler. Beat it with your wrestler and you got a short highlight reel for them.

9. WWF RAW - SNES/Sega Genesis
Great wrestling game for its time, the best button masher you'll find anywhere.

8. WCW vs. The World - PS1
The game that brought us the amazing AKI engine. This game also ushered in a new era of pro wrestling games, forcing the competition to stop relying on silly arcade games.

7. WWE Smackdown: Here Comes The Pain - PS2
The first great wrestling title on a Sony console since WCW vs. The World. Warzone was a disappointment, Attitude was a rehash, and the Smackdown series was terrible. Until Here Comes The Pain. Yukes and THQ took an outdated engine and actually FIXED it, which was unheard of for that pair. THQ continues improvements and looks to put this once amateur series on the right track with WWE Smackdown vs. RAW coming this November.

6. WCW vs. nWo World Tour - N64
Brought the AKI engine to the Nintendo 64 where it made its mark. Featuring Japanese wrestlers like Hayabusa, Jinsei Shinzaki, Great Sasuke, TAKA Michinoku, and Atsushi Onita as well as all the WCW greats at the time.

5. WCW/nWo Revenge - N64
The follow up to World Tour that just kept improving the series. This incarnation introduced the Edit-a-Wrestler option which allowed you to keep appearances updated and even make a few fantasy wrestlers if you use your imagination. And yes folks, Han Zo Man WAS Hayabusa despite his appearance.

4. WWF Wrestlefest - Arcade
May seem dated now, but back in the early 90s, this was the reason to go to the arcade. It's just a damn shame no one ever tried to make a game like this for the home systems.

3. WWF Wrestlemania 2000 - N64
The AKI engine comes to the WWF along with a true Create-a-Wrestler. It couldn't get any better than this... but it did.

2. WWF No Mercy - N64
Wow, WWF/WWE gaming had never seen anything this good and it hasn't been this good ever since. The Smackdown series cannot hold a candle to the AKI games from the N64 era and the Gamecube games that attempt to recreate the AKI engine are nothing short of laughable. This is the pinnacle of WWE gaming.

1. Fire Pro Wrestling D - Dreamcast
Oh my God... a wrestling game with a challenge! A steep learning curve plus an insanely deep create a wrestler equals the best wrestling game you'll find in the entire world. This is a Japanese import, but it's definitely worth the effort to get your hands on. The company that makes it, Spike, is also responsible for the insanely popular King of the Coliseum for the Japanese PS2. Unfortunately, I have yet to play it or else I'm sure that would be on this list.

actually alpha, In HCTP, you could only chokeslam or lift big show with stacy if it was a special. In SVR you can't with stacy at all. Specials are undergoing the weight detections system. The camera's are now going to be Tv style. Ring in center , ramp to the left. The reason there are less on the roster is because all the main wrestlers are the ones who made the cut. Well, a few jobbers made it...but everyone is much more detailed than last year. The grapple system is way more detailed than last years. the power grapples are hard to hit but signature are supposed to be easier.
Royal rumble looks to be the best I've ever seen. I swear it looks very close to like in real life with the struggles at the rope.
judging by early movies and early previews and talking to those with the beta it's alot more polished.
