I had been trying to know as well. I never played, Twisted Metal 1 but I play the others. Twisted Metal 2 was mediocre. Twisted Metal 3 was awesome. They really did a good job. Twisted Metal 4 was just awful. They did a good job on the storyline, and graphics but seriously, though, they should remake it. It is as if they rush the whole entire game in one single day. Twisted Metal Black was an improvement. I think they advance and exaggerated on the storyline to much.

Moreover, my favorite cars are P-R-I-M-E-V-A-L(I'm force to type it like that because I get that "thisthingisdisabled)(Which I was disappointed since he did not make a return on Twisted Metal: Black) even though you cannot choose him. Darkside from Twisted Metal 3 only, Minion from TW3 only as well, and who could not like Sweet Tooth?

I think what they should do for the next Twisted Metal (If there is one) is make a redo out of TW4, same storyline, but different cars.

I actually liked TM2 the best! then Black, then 3 - ive never played 1 either - i like the idea of a remake of tm4 for the next sequel, lets hope they make one. Mr. Grimm (tm2) is my favorite.
Oh, they need to put in replays for the two player vs. mode as well.

It was great the way they turned the game's theme really dark for TM:B, the characters all coming from the insane asylum was a good concept, and I thought it was very well done. Bring out a sequel now!

I was introduced to TM1 because a buddy and myself rented it. Then, we threw the cd around like a frisbee, then i had to buy it because it got scratched up, lol. Suburbia ownjoo for free in TM1!

Anywho, I actually like TM2 the best out of all of them. Outlaw2 is just too good! Freeze, remote bomb, homing missile combo to special = PWNED!!!

Sadly, I have yet to play TM:Black . I got into Tomb Raider and various other fighters. I'm ashamed. sad

The twisted metal series is deinately one of my all time favourite games for the PS. I own them all, and i love playing them with my friends.

Part 2,3, and black are my favourites, part 4 just sucked.

BTW, you CAN play as P-R-I-M-E-V-I-L with the gameshark, that goes for darkside as well.

I used to unlock minion alot, and i would kick everyones ass with him, his special was awesome. the freeze missile, added to the regular missiles was an awesome combo. I used to also play as MR. grim, and outlaw.

In twisted metal 2, the final boss was darktooth right? He was bad ass. I used to love picking MR slam in TM2, because his special took off great damage. Twisted metal 2 and 3 are definately my favourites.

Also, wasnt there a twisted metal small brawl game that was supposed to take place after twisted metal black? I remember hearing that your cars were shrunk in that game, and the levels were huge. I never got to play it though.

1,2, and Black were good. 3 wasn't bad either, but loyal fans, bash it. I for one am a loyal fan, but do not... Now the question about there being a sequel to Black is actually still being debated at TMalliance.com, but oh well. I can wait as long as they take to make a new one, because Black is so fucking awesome that I'll never get bored of it.

Twisted Metal is cool, I hate TM3. Damn me ad olympic hero found so many funny ass glitches in those games. Axel is my favorite character.

Damn I'm suprised Olympic Hero hasn't posted in here, TM is like his favorite series
TWISTED METAL SHOULD HOOKUP WITH ICP!!!

Furthermore TM 3/4 And Small Brawl SUCK ASS.3was alot better than 4 though I'll play it at least .4 RUINED MINION'S TANK ,the only reason I even had 4 was for the create a car and that could have been so much better .And RC cars??What were u huffing? To ALL who Ruined TM'S PURE INNOCENT GLORY Fa-Q Black was kick ass I just wish they had enough time to complete Warhawks playability before the idea was scrapped .I think I'm done now...

YEah, Twisted Metal is a awesome game series. I have all 6 of them (1-Small Brawl). I even unlocked all the cars and Hidden areas in all the TM games.

TMBlack,TM2 and TM4 are the best ones IMO. TM3 and TM1 are pretty cool games to. TM4 is very undertated. sure its not as good as TM2 by a long shot. but its still a great game IMO

At first, I hated the Driving Engine is TM3, but than I started playing it some more and eventually got used to it. So the control is pretty simple to me now

TM Small Brawl is a fun game but gets boring after a while. Proabaly my least favorite TM Game.

They should definlly make a sequal to Twisted Metal: Black. One of the greatest PS2 games of all time. the charaters are so dark, evil and disturbing and I love it. and Sweet Tooth's Transformation speical looks awesome as hell!

What was your favorite level from any of the games?
I like Moscow and I liked Holland just 4 the challenge on hard - especially as im mostly grimmy, when you got to face Spectre & Sweet Tooth, DAMN - try getting out without losing a life! Also Downtown and The Freeway of TM:Black - once on the Freeway an AI character must have blown out the bridge the train crosses with a naplam drum (unless I'd done it by accident), I was in the middle of a fight and the train crossed the broken bridge and went straight off - I couldnt believe my eyes as it crashed, and i lost a life cus i was so shocked I'd stopped playing. If you've never seen that, aim a barrel at the point where the train crosses a bridge directly over the freeway and hit the bridge (this is tricky ar first, maybe try it in 2 player) sit back and enjoy!

You're fucking kidding, right? TM3 was just as much a piece of shit as TM4 was. TM2 rivals Black for high point of the series.

er... To elaborate

TM1 = good game that laid the foundation for a new era in vehicle combat

TM2 = awesome sequel that had the music, atmopshere and gameplay of the original and doubled it.

TM3 = what the hell? Why is my car flipping over every two seconds? What the fuck? Respawning cars?! Licenced music?!

TM4 = What the fuck is THIS shit? Sweet Tooth as the final boss? Mr Grimm is a gay pirate?! A soundtrack that rivals "Now that's what I call music 24321"?! Hang the developers!

TM Black = A kickass game that's as good as 2, but sadly there is no metal in this Twisted Metal game.

What I loved about Twisted Metal the most was the storyline that sucked you in. It was totally awesome until 3 and 4 fucked it up COMPLETLEY. 3's story was half-way decent. 4's story most fans won't even accept (including me) because it just made a mockery of the game we all loved. That's why in Twisted Metal Black they started the story all over again. They realized that 989 Studios fucked up the story too bad when they sold them the licence and made 3 and 4.

I'm a total hardcore Twisted Metal fan. I love it as much as Mortal Kombat. Like Needles said, TMalliance.com is the MKonline.com equivalent for Twisted Metal. They also have developers of the games as forum members. But TMA sucks because their layout sucks and they haven't updated the site since way last year. They even come off as cocky because the first thing they throw at you on the front page is thier name in the TM Black "Special Thanks" part of the credits.

I don't know why it's taking this long for another sequel. Black sold well, it surley warrants it.

I break it down like this:

Singletrac: Great games came from Singletrac... 2Xtreme, Twisted Metal, Warhawk, Jet Moto, Coolboarders, Etc.

They sold to:

989 Studios: No games I'd reccomend came from 989 Studios... they even bought a Basketball game branch, which was such a mockery of the sport... In a few of the games, the balls didn't spin... they bounced... the black lines didn't move an inch.
They should go Bankrupt and burn in hell for ruining the Twisted Metal series... TM3 gave us endings that NOBODY won... they all died. Even Mr. Grimm's ending, "Here's my sole," Where Calypso curb-stomped the poor Reaper, sucked ass!

Tri: A Reformed Singletrac company, with many of the original developers and programmers, with better Game making software tools...

They bought out the TM franchise after 989 ruined it, and made Twisted Metal Black... one of the greatest games ever programmed.

My list of best to worst goes like this:

TM1(Classic, therefore Best)
TMB
TM2
TM3
TM4

TM3 was gh3y... you rolled, you basically were a sitting duck. The music wasn't TOO terribly bad, the cheats were kinda cool, with the giant Ricochet bombs, coupled with the infinite ricochet bombs were the only way to win with a really high difficulty setting (basically camping in a Vehicular combat game). The map weaponry was quite gh3y as well.

Twisted Metal 4... now that was a steaming pile of horseradish. The one good character was Orbital, with the cool freeze-lock orb, but that was easily escapable with the aid of a quick vehicle...and what is with the hidden characters having no ending? Also: Minion just a regular M1 Abrahm's looking tank? that's even worse!

In summary, I must say... Singletrac Good... 989 Bad.

Boycott 989, if they are still around!

I love the twisted metal series. cars, clowns, and completely destroying paris, does it get any better. it reminds me of the mk series because i put all the sequals in the same order (I love MK/TM 2,5,3,1,4 in that order). 989 really did fuck up the series (even though i find 3 better than 1, it is a huge step below 2 and black). I am really hoping for a new TM, and i hope they go back to touring the world cause i want to blow up new land marks.

They better make a TMB sequel. TMB was my favorite one. The story was the best. The only bad part about that game was a couple characters. Nothing else though. Everything else was perfect.

Twisted Metal levels, were base on places around the world, IE: Paris, Washington D.C, New York, etc. I hate the way they added those utterly stupid levels on Twisted Metal 4. Even though Twisted Metal Black didn't have none, they were at least decent levels especially the enviroments.

The Creator of the Twisted Metal Series is making his very own platform title entitled, "GOD OF WAR". ?I suggest you go to www.gamestop.com and check it out, it looks fricking INCREDIBLE !

in conclusion: if you like twisted metal, OR a great game design/idea then check out GOD OF WAR, the dude responsible for it has been working on it for 2 years in almost complete secrecy...

The way I see it

TM1 was a good clincher it got me pulled into the series.

TM2 just owned it can be compared to MK2 in a way as they are both the best game in both series. Nothing will be better than TM2 unless it was redone with better graphics, but you need to keep it EXACTLY how it was.

TM3 was decent I liked it a lot I thought it was a nice game.

TM4 was pushing it, I didn't enjoy it AS MUCH but it was still ok to play.

TM Black man o man what to say about this. I bought my PS2 and I was looking for a game bout a year ago and I saw it TM BLACK. I didnt know a game came out for it yet! I was psyched and when I got home it was much harder than I thought and I lived it so much.

In my opinion I think it should go:
TM2
TM Black
TM1
TM3
TM4

Lemme know what you think

And btw Axcel owns =) his freeze-ram-special took literally half of ne1 health and I love him in every game :)

That's the same order I'd pick for the games. TM2 would be great redone on the next-gen systems, but right now I'd just like a sequel to Black.
