Unreal Tournament...need some questions answered

I'm looking forward to getting Unreal Tournament for the PC as a graduation gift. But I haven't tried it yet, my friend rich2192 said it sucks, and you can't rent computer games. So...
- Is it easy to find a program that can make 3d models for this game? Is it easy to make 3d models at all?
- How does online gameplay work?
- Which is better, 2003 or 2004?
- What's the object to the game?
- How can you make stages for this game?
- Can you make voices for the characters?
Answers to these questions would be highly apprieciated....I mean..umm...appreicaited...oh, you know what I mean.

1- Maya comes with the 2K3 and 2K4 UT games.

2- Online play must be experienced first hand... depends who you play against and what type of game. Dont look for anything close to Half life however.

3- 2K4 without even hesitating.

4- kill and live to tell about it... mostly an online game... the BOTS suck... or are way too awesome depending on the diffuclty level you set them.

5- unreal ed is a prgo included in the game that lets you edit and create levels.

6- yes you can.. but dont know how.

The center site (if you will) for the franchise. Any info that you would ever need for this game is right here. Also, seeing as this game is extremely open for the community (i.e. - EVERYTHING in this game is customizable) there are tons of things to download to keep the game fresh.

The only limit to what you can create in the game is based on knowledge (programming, 3d proggy's, sound production, etc.) and time.

Finally, I recommend the game for sure. One of my top games of all time for sure.

So basically, this is kind of like MUGEN, except it's a shooting game and you can play online.
Sweet. I can't wait until Thursday when I graduate and get the game. I've been actually losing sleep because I'm so excited to get out of my cruddy school and get this game that I'm not tired.
When I get the game, my screename will be The_Grief_Giver. Blast away! Meeehah!!!

3D Buzz offers video tutorials which are pretty badd ass. Though, they have since gone to a ghey ass "star ranking" system. IE, the more active you are on their site, the more stars you get, the more you can download. It used to not be that way...it's pretty lame. Though, you can still purchase a CD with all the VTMs on them.
Also note that if you use LIghtwave to do your modeling, there isn't a need for any special exporter/importer like there is for Max and Maya. LIghtwave is uber UnrealEd friendly.

You can also create custom game types, such as the Jailbreak Mod, which is a team game that places fragged players in a cell, and team members have to get them out before the entire team is caputred, killed again, and the enemy scores. It kicks all kinds of ass and shows the power of custom scripting that UT allows.

And if you want maps, go to Nali City. Tons of levels for UT, Unreal 2, UT2003, and UT2004 (2003 and 2004 are not compatable with each other, even though they use the same base engine, 2004 has more weapons and is coded differently than 2003, so they don't work with each other).

Thanks, Satya. I think I'll try to use Maya first. If I get confused, I'll just use Lightwave.
I'll check out all of those links when I get the game.

Oh, thanks for the maps TPB. I'll download the bathroom level on Iggman.com first though. Heheh. I heard it's not for those with weak stomachs. Blagh. I'm already prepared to vomit for that. I just want the game! grin

Okay. Just a quick question.
To play online, do you have to do that I.P. thing or do you just type the username, and is lag a problem in this game?

In your settings, give your character a name (default is PLayer1)

Next thing, in the main menu, go to join a game, then browse the master server by choosing what type of games you want.

if you want to play a specific server, just note th IP and after having gone to the join a game section, go to the favorites tab and then add a favorite, it will always stay there for you to easily get to it at a later time.
and lag IS a problem whenever you experience some.

Lag, sucks, so try to find servers with good ping rates. If you're on 56k, it's not even worth playing online...i'm not even sure if it's possible 0_0.
