Yeah man, they're worn out. I personally think Eddie is (was) better than Jimi Hendrix at guitar (he is overrated), they are a very talented band with some good songs (Like Jump and Panama, and the ever so awesome Eruption solo). But he is old now, so he's worn out. Plus, Sammy sucks, David Lee Roth was better.

Same here bro, ive always respected Eddie as a guitarist but overall im not a big fan... personally i think Eruption is very overrated... thats one of the first instrumentals i learned to play...

First of all, this thread title isn't right, hmmm. I'm sorry, but you live in India, and you think that Van Halen is the worst band on earth? That's one wild overstatement, and should be rephrased.

Some people have surprised me on this message board. Ghaleon, you're one of the big ones. You said that Eruption was overrated, and if that's overrated then you're in turn saying the Mr. Edward Van Halen is overrated. Am I right? Well then lemme ask you something, What ISN'T "overrated" then?

Another thing I hear ALL of the time, and it's starting to get old "Sammy sucks, I want David back". Hey guys, I don't know what your problem is but Van Halen's plan was not to have a "whacky" singer *although David Lee Roth is one of my favorite singers, and I have no beef toward him* it was Van Halen's plan to have a voice like that of Sammy Hagar's, and guess what? Their plan worked, because after they got him, sales went up real high. They in fact became so successful with him that their albums went past Triple Platinum and straight into "Diamond", no shit.

Another thing, what the fuck were you expecting? Sammy's 60 years old!? Do you want the band to come out on stage, doing backflips? Ofcourse their not going to play as well either, because they have not played in a looong time. Everyone's been waiting for a reunion, and it's finally come. It wasn't meant for kids these days who like their rap, and NuMetal, so if you're not a part of it, don't express your unworthy opinion. I've heard it a million times, and all I can say is that it's getting old.


Van Halen is the most successful Rock band ever, and there's nothing you can do to change it. They're simply the best, and all because your favorite band isn't doesn't mean you have to hate them.

When they get over here, I'll see them, and even if they play as if they've gotten alot older, I'll still see them in all of their glory, "The Greatest Band In The World". It's them, so don't give me or anyone else, any of your bullshit opinions.

Van Halen were gods until they got rid of Hagar and put in what's his face... you know... the guy who ruined the band...? He had a name, I'm sure of it.

Roth, ppf. He's just a gigilo. If he got out of his 80's phase when the 80's actually ended, he could've stayed with Van Halen, but he couldn't. He just has that screw loose.

Hagar on the other hand gave Van Halen that voice and edge they needed, and at that point they became less synth-rock and more guitar rock, which fit them in during the early 90's.

Then they got what's his name...? I still can't remember it. Not like I want to, because I hate the guy, though I remember his face, vaguely, and want to punch it in for sucking as bad as he did.

Dont get me wrong Needles I respect Eddie as a guitarist and like his stuff... hell i even have a Peavey Eddie V Wolfgang... all im saying is Eruption is a good instrumental, its just that all the people i know think its like the hardest thing on Gods green earth to play and it isnt... But seriously if u look at how some people view that one piece ull see what i mean, some people think its impossible to play and for that reason they feel it should be dubbed the greatest instrumental ever, but i disagree... but all in all i like Van Halen, i like Eddie, i like Eruption, im just tired of eveyone acting like its impossible...

While I typed that part about "the most successful rock band" I thought about KISS too So it's hard to say. Oh and Ghaleon, what about Eddie's solo in Michael Jackson's "Beat It", can you play that as well? *that sounds "smart alecky" but it isn't meant to be read that way*.
