You're going to give your account's password to any ole' user that might help you out? Yeah, I don't see anything wrong with that.

You should have no problem copying an image's URL and pasting it in the box. That's what I did with mine despite that the image is fairly large. The image would be shrunk to fit. Just right click on the picture you're getting off the internet and it would read "Copy Image URL" then paste it in the image box in your settings and if you did it correctly, you should see your picture.

Don't give out your password. That's just silly.

1. Have an image file on your desktop that you want to use as an avatar

2. Go to Imgur.com and (in the top right corner), click "Computer". Select the file on your desktop.

3. In the popup that appears, click "start upload" and wait a few moments.

4. On the new screen, you should see the image you uploaded. On the right, you should see a column of urls. Copy the one under "Direct Link (email & IM)".

5. Come back to mortalkombatonline.com and click settings.

6. Click the "Change icon" button.

7. Paste the url you copied from imgur into the box that pops up and click OK.

8. Go to the bottom and click "Save settings".

9. Listen to the One Word, Go! Show

10. Profit

I've honestly tried that- and every other way, I don't see what damage a trusted person on here could do with my password so long as I change it soon as they've uploaded a profile pic for me, I'm getting really annoyed as no one will do if for me, I'm not a dodgy guy- I simply want an MK9 Stryker profile pic, I don't get why the icon list is so out of date, there should be MK9 icons to choose from.

Because that's not how help works. You don't just give someone your password and think nothing bad will come out with it. It's like if I gave a friend my World of Warcraft password just to help me get better armor. To toy around with my account is too much temptation for them not to do. Just stop thinking that's a solution to your problems, because that's too silly to think that's gonna help.



Then contact a mod or read up on the FAQ on how to do it. You got two users who posted how to change your avatar, if that's not working, then contact a mod and they'll help you out. That's really all that's left to do then if nothing else is working.

Just for kicks, what is the exact URL you're pasting into the Change Icon thing?

Also are you pressing Save Settings at the bottom?

Keep changing the little captcha thing til it becomes a few words and all that snaz because try decided to change it into some audio thing or whatever.

Wait til it uploads

Copy the 4th code that appears

Paste that into the bar when you click on change icon

wow, as I've said I've tried everything- which includes tiny url.com and all of the other options suggested, you'd think I was drug dealing with the responses on here, why are you suggesting me things I've said I've already tried? everything covers it all, good for everyone here that found it easy- if only it was easy to get a cooperative person on here to help me, what a great bunch on MK Online.

If you have a valid URL all you have to do is put it in and save.

What you have right now is perhaps an over abundance of information. If you just offer more specific information (like the URL you're using), people can troubleshoot exactly where you're going wrong.

As suspected by the majority of people who were trying to help, the URL you're using is for a webpage, not an image file. It is invalid as it does not link to an image.

The image URL you want to use is: http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/124/6/e/stryker_by_xdarkarchangel-d642ai8.png.

Once you input the correct URL into the designated user settings area and save your changes, it will be done. This is standard to all situations of this type. (Always a good idea to stop and really listen to what folks are trying to say, especially when you know you don't understand.)

Be sure to check out the General HTML FAQ for more useful information. Let us know if there are any more problems. I don't imagine there will be (RE: Avatar settings).

Thanks Mick-Lucifer for being civilised, I entered the link provided by you above as well as a simplified link from tiny: http://tinyurl.com/qxqlqmf however when the MKO box asks to provide a path for the file neither of these work, maybe it's my computer I'm uncertain, but none of these suggestions have worked, that's why I suggested for someone to kindly log in as me briefly and update for me- but everyone says they can't be trusted to do this lol

forgive me if I seem un appreciative but as I continuously say - NOTHING is working, it simply reverts back to the default fighter icon, highly annoying and more so when people refuse to believe there's nothing more to this than me being stupid- which is not the case, is there a reason why MK Online can't update the sites MK icons?

Make sure you literally just put http://fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/124/6/e/stryker_by_xdarkarchangel-d642ai8.png in. No additional punctuation (ie; the full stop from my sentence) or spaces. Don't use TinyURL to replace the existing URL. All you need is a valid image file. The link I've provided appears to work.

We're overdue some avatar updates (I've just made a quick one to add our voting tokens), but even then, we wouldn't expect to include or appropriate images designed for other sites. Most people prefer customization and that's why we, like any site, include the option to use an off-site source. It's just the nature of the universe that you need to use a valid image URL to choose an image.

It's never a good idea to give out your password, especially for something as relatively elementary as this. I appreciate your perseverance and believe if you accurately copy the DeviantART URL, you should be done.
