A little bit of new info. gamespot has in it's hand on preview a list of a few of the various achievements for UMK3. Here is the quote from the gamespot article: "On the achievement front, you'll earn points for finishers, like for finishing a fight with a babality over Xbox Live, giving mercy, executing a fatality, and so on. You'll also earn points for getting 10 wins, landing a five-hit combo, and so on".
[edit]: Also of note the Gamespot article also mentions the lack of sound in the E3 build, which would explain not being able to hear the sound in the video. The article also goes on to say that it is an impressive emulation, but still not quit arcade perfect. They also mention that the controls are also a bit sluggish. Hopefully all that will be tightened up before it's released.

Points for performing Fatalities. Ugh. Points for 5 hit combos? I think points for a 9 hit combo is a little more reasonable because every character can do an easy 5 hit auto combo with a jump punch + 4 hits. Oh well, it is a little bit interesting that they are going to be doing a points system. I still don't see any emphasis on playing against other people.

Pretty much the same though I had when reading it. Average combo length is 6-8 hits. It's almost a joke. I would love some really heard achievements thrown in. Maybe like a 100 win streak or something like the old code to play pong. Or was it 200 wins? Most of them sound like they'll be a joke to get. I mean any veteran MK player will have most of them within 5 mins. Most Xbox Live Arcade games only have 200 points of achievements too. So it kind of makes you wonder how many achievements there are. But it's still nice to have them in there none the less. My guess the list will look like this:
-10 match Win streak
-Perform Fatality
-Peform Mercy
-Perform Babality
-Perform Friendship
-Peform Stage fatality
-5 Hit Combo
-Beat the game
-Double Flawless Fatality
-Finish game without using a continue
The whole point of playing someone else online is thats the way the game was designed to be played in the arcades to begin with. If you mean the achievements it sound like they can only be done online. Not in arcade mode.

Win/loss/disconnect records should be kept as well, that's kind of important.
