Hmm...Slipknot aren't that great live. I mean they have a lot of energy, but Corey (the singer)'s voice doesn't sound nearly as good live as it does on CD. I haven't seen many well-known bands live, and the others of the few I've seen live were pretty good. I used to go to a lot of local shows, and I remember a few local bands who had demos that didn't do any justice at all to their live shows.

Everclear, absolutely the worst shit I have EVER seen in my life...awful...they ain't that great on CD anymore, but that's besides the point. Live, worst show EVER I promise you.

Anyone who relies on engineering to make them sound good is gonns suck live. Anyone who lip-sychs live sucks as well...

True,John Mayer was on Jimmy Kimmel and he sounded awful.He was singing his latest song "whoo-hooo".

Tool blew live, Ozzy can't even finish his songs anymore, and Rob Zombie runs out of breath all the time and sounds horrible.

Tool would have put me to sleep had it not been raining on the lawn. They left stage 3 times for no reason for 20 minute breaks, stood in one spot the whole time while on stage, sounded like they just played the cds, not real live music...guess you have to be high or wasted to like their show....of and the video clips that looped 4 seconds of animation for 10 minutes each....yea thats excitement. If you want energy and a damn AWESOME show, go see Sevendust in a small club.....they kick much ass!

I'd say pretty much all bands "suck", live.
There are only a few who actually sound good, live.
Take Muse for instance.
I like their music a lot, don't get me wrong.
But I can't stand their live performances.

For a good live performance, I always expect the band to sound better or at least similar to the CD, and Metallica is one of my biggest deception.
Live, Kirk Solo aren't that good and when he goes with some improvisation, he messes up. James Hetfield gets annoying throwing "Uh YEahhh" in almost every parts of every songs he can insert one. Don't get me wrong I love Metallica (Old ones mainly), but Live,..not my cup of tea.

I hate saying this considering i've never acually been to a concert and that they r my favorite band but i currently own live in texas and i'd have to say linkin park :(

The All-American Rejects lead singer seems to run out of breath fairly easily, but he puts good effort into it

i saw a video of nickelback leaving the stage in a middle of a concert, becuase the audience, i guess, didn't like them, or wasn't interested. it was pretty funny.

From what I hear, Tool actually does a kick ass live show.

The best live band I've heard is, appropriately enough, "Live".

i joke thee not. The show was horrendous. I wish i could get my money back PLUS extra for the boredome i endured for 2+ hours. It was so long because they just kept walking off stage for 15-20 minute intervals and playing an electricity loop sound for the whole time. The show was utter shite. If i wanted to hear the cd, i would put it in, not drive for an hour to stand in the rain and not even get a performance show out of it. They just stood still the whole show....well aside walking on and off stage. :p

Evanescence wasn't too great live. Amy Lee did alright, but her voice isn't nearly as stable as it is one the CD.

COLD, however, was sweet ... I love those guys.

Megadeth though not as great on some songs(better on some) sound pretty good live, at least what I can tell from Rude Awakening... Metallica S&M was okay, but even in that one he was throwing oh yeahs and trying far to hard on the old songs... Korn was good live, but I haven't seen that many bands live... Chili peppers on some MTV award thing blew a bit... the singer was having some problems for some odd reason...
