Holographic 3-D? Online fantasy worlds almost life-like? Mortal Kombat XX offers 600 Fatalities a person, real-time combat physics, and the return of Stryker? Well, the Olsen twins would be about, oh, 47, so I wonder what their games will be like? Fatality.

assuming the world survives the nuclear winter that was so evident in day after tommorow?

games will expand into a fricking 4th diminsion. We will put on suits that have sensors everywhere and live out fantasies for days at a time. We will be able to go INSIDE worlds to explore and traverse.

About Me

Seems easy, but nothing could be so hard.
Trying to guess life's dealing, what's the next card?
I'm surely folding, I don't like this hand at all.

Ive heard some people say that in the future video games wont even need anybody to program or create them but, this obviously is wrong because a machine cant do it on its own.

Anyway, I dont think 30 years from now video games will have a fourth dimension or be entirely in virtual reality. Maybe some will but, for the most part none. I think this will happen possibly 50 years from now at the least. I believe video games will have to stick to the old 3rd dimension for now.

30 yrs is a hell of a long time for technology to change. So it is going to a major difference in what we play today. I believe it will be some kind of virtual gaming in a way that it will involve some kind of costume where 'you' are the character that you play. There will be no control pads or joysticks. The costume may only be a wristband for some games, and a full body suit for others.

The games will be compatible with only a certain costume. eg: fighting games will need the full body costume - shooters will need the wristband with a finger extension etc... it just depends on what body parts are needed.

I just don't think our hands/fingers will be the controls.

It's hard to even imagine what could change in that time. Go beyond our wildest imaginations, just like i have.

Also I will be 55 years old at that time so i doubt i will play the games. So i wont care...!

Gaming will be more respected by society and the media, the funding in games will rise, and the graphics will be so life-like, it is unimaginable at this point in time.

It's really hard what the evolutionism of video games will be like. Maybe the consoles will use biometrics as identification purposes or they could just keep updating the graphics like they do today.

Not necessarily large numbers my friend? "600 Fatalities?"
Games will just be hyper-realistic sad *I'm too impressed with Doom III to want them to go any further, I mean look at the new Unreal engine!!!!

^ Love the avatar.

I think gaming in 30 years will be very similar to what some of you have said. We will actually travel to these 4D worlds and be the character. My only difference is that it would be impossible to play fighting games. I mean, would the person playing the game actually have to jump and do a kick to perform that move? Seems a little odd. I'm hoping we one day get to the point that all a person has to do is think of a move and it automatically performs it.

I think 30 years from now games would have reality helmits when u put a helmit on and it zaps u into da game, imagine being Fido in GTA3 killing Catalina, or fighting Shao Kahn, or throwing Mecakoopas at Bowser in Super Mario.

I think video games will be so realistic that if anyone was a hardcore gamer like me they would probably go crazy and start shooting people and trying to jump over moving trains and stuff....
