do you like special editions/deluxe editions/uncut/extended cut/not seen it theaters version/etc. in movies, games, music.

does it have to have certain things from the standard version for you to fork over the extra cash. do you dislike them.

do you own special editions of anything. if so please post them.

whats the limit you put your cash down for a certain edition.

also what items do you like in your various editions. like artwork, posters, keychains, music, dlc, extra songs, deleted scenes, outakes, etc.

I like those because its just cool to say that you got the special edition to your friends who got the normal edition. I have SC5 collector's edition, Mortal Kombat Komplete Edition, and the special edition of the Drake CD which came with a YMCMB tee shirt

I appreciate the extended editions of movies, If it's one I really enjoyed i'll most likely pick up the Director's cut/Extended cut or whatever. As for games, modern games usually always have DLC now, no surprise there. I don't mind paying for it, but I usually wait a bit before I do purchase to see if it's worth it.
i think before they used to mean something but nowadays its simply a cash crab

i mean really? 3 or 4 variations of editions?

I think it's always been a cash grab. Unless there's something amazing in a special edition (exclusive character, soundtrack CD, etc), I will get the regular edition.

Unless the special edition is like twice (or the more) the cost of the regular. Fuck that shit.

And that's just on games. Movies and television shows? No point whatsoever.

I think as far as movies go it should be mandatory to just include the uncut version and deleted scenes when a movie is released. There shouldn't be multiple versions (ie theatrical and uncut) of a movie released, just one version.

As far as games go, I used to buy them heavily, now I'm more selective depending on what is being offered. Some of the stuff seems to be a cash grab with little extra content, but stuff like MK, Injustice and the Legendary editions of halo seem to be worth it IMO.
