Man, I just got back from Italy. Small one week business trip. It was hell cause I was in Sicily, and they hardly spoke any english. Beautiful country. For some reason, I like the way Italian sounds. Im just honestly too lazy to learn it anytime soon. My interests pretty much stop once I get the plane ride back to the states.lol
Anyway. I was thinking. What if some magical sourcerer or god-like being met up with you in your house, in your family room, and told you He would grant you the ability to speak and write 5 different languages fluently in addition to english. What would you choose and why? Im curious.
1.) Spanish - I always wanted to learn some spanish. Its the second most popular language here in the U.S.
2.) Korean - Imagine the people I could impess knowing Korean. Damn
3.) Russian - It sounds so rough and rugged. I would want to know this.
4.) Arabic - This would help bag up those sexy middle eastern girls.
5.) Italian - Incase I run into the mob, or talk to Snooki.

Since you didn't specify, assume I'd get to learn all dialects of each language, such as American English vs British English vs Old English (I assume a lot of differences are in slang).
1. Arabic. Beautiful people (in that general area of the world that speak it) that I'd love to communicate with.
2. English. I know a lot of fancy and simple words, and I can write pretty well (if my former college professors and current friends are valid judges to go by), but I'd love to have mastery over this language. A smooth talker can get into a fancy party; a machine that spits out verbose statements in attempts to impress others doesn't even learn of the party.
3. ANY of the far east/asian languages. I don't care which, as long as I get one of them. I'd prefer Korean or Vietnamese though.
4. Afrikaans or Swahili. I know that Swahili is more common, along with other languages, so I'd prefer that one, but Afrikaans is used more in South Africa, so it's more of a toss up.
5. Russian or German. I'd mostly want to learn how to say very uplifting or complimentary phrases, such as "I love/appreciate you" or "Life is great!", just so I could shout them angrily at people. Confusing and kind, but hey, that's life.

Those are just the three I'm interested in in no particular order. EDIT: Okay, Korean would be cool too considering I'm PART Korean.

Good choices. Im glad to see Japanese and Chinese are the popular wishbones. Its a pretty dope language to walk in the house one day and start talking that language fluently out loud. The looks on your friends faces would be priceless. The ones that have known you for years.
