First we don't want to get racial or blaming other people for what happened on that day,all I'm asking is how did you feel when those humans were jumping out of the building and people screaming, plus the media broadcasters were not even crying?

I felt really bad for those people,I even thought the world was gonner end that day! I didn't cried though,I was just sorry for those people and wish they didn't die invane. Then next was the retaliation issue,America was ready to retaliate on Afghanistan which I didn't like because it's like sending more people to die after losing a million but I hope one day all these wars will stop and mankind will live free on our planet call "Earth!"

It never really got to me where I was real depressed. At the time I was dealing with my own problems and that was the time when I didn't really give a care.I felt sad for the people that died except the terriosts they deserved it.As for invading Afghanastan the soliders down there are dying for a reason. Not over some BS that happened on 9/11.Personally I don't think there will ever be peace. As long as dumb people are in the world there will always be war and hate.

We're getting are revenge on 9/11 though.Killing Oooday and Koosay(Saddam's sons) was pretty big. Then catching Saddam was even bigger. Now we have to get that little prick Bin Laden.Bin is going to get his.Sooner than he thinks.

I don't really consider it a military act, to me it was just mass slaughter.
On another level, humans are not the only ones to wage war, "social" insects, such as Termites, Ants, Bees, and Hornets also wage war.

I didn't really care that much, but I did say in my mind that how evil people can get to that point.

When I first heard about it I was just confused, because apparently everyone else knew before I did (as is often the case). It seemed like the world was ready to end any minute.

When we invaded Afghanistan, one of my first thoughts was, how do we go to war with an enemy that is not defined by a nation or region, an enemy that is confined by no boundaries? I mean, how can you really expect to kill or capture all the terrorists in the world? There are always going to be people who are brought up to hate America, and some of them will take action on their hate. If we want to keep our people safe, homeland security is where we need to focus. By waging war and causing unavoidable civillian casualties, we're just exacerbating the hatred for us that is already abundant in the Middle East.

And Drfatality, about the "revenge" we're getting for 9/11, what do Saddam, Uday and Qusay have to do with it? They had nothing to do with the attacks. Not to say that they weren't bad guys, but it's like saying the execution of Tim McVeigh was revenge for, say, the sniper shootings in Virginia and Maryland.

Ah, Drfatality has once again demonstrated his political ineptitude. All you do dr is spew back Republican slogans and administration policy, and you never back up your opinions.

Uday and Qusay Hussein, although certainly bad people, are not responsible for 9/11. Saddam Hussein is not responsible for 9/11. The recently released report by the 9/11 commission says this, and even Bush did not dispute their findings.

So the only thing that excuses the ignorant idea on your part that the Hussein family/regime was responsible is ignorance. And if your not ignorant of the facts involved, I can draw no other conclusion than you are a racist who shifted the blame of 9/11 from the perpetrators to the entire Arab and Muslim world.

And no matter if they deserved it or not, it was shocking and dissapointing that the world's 'Beacon of Freedom' displayed their dead bodies to the whole world like some sort of sickening blood trophy.

You make a good point, and those are in majority my own opinions aswell, but you should'nt be so agressive in regard to ignorance, whatever the subject is. Once you may know all about a given subject, but another time you may not know shit.
Just my 2 cents.

Woke up, went to work. Heard over the radio that the WTC had been bombed a couple hours earlier. Believe it or not, not everyone lives on the East Coast. O.O

Anyway, thought it was a shame. And figured the guys who did it a few years earlier probably did it again. Around noon, was getting tired of it. Along with many other people. The usual chat of gov't. conspiracies etc. followed. By 5 I was tired of hearing about it. What followed, was much of the United States running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

I was in the U.S. Air Force at the time. I was going through my normal morning routine of shining my boots and putting on my uniform. I was shocked and thought it was an accident until I saw the second plane crash into the towers. The tragedy made ready for war! Three years and two deployments to Iraq later, I'm no longer in the Air Force. Mainly because I just graduated college and want to make a real living now. But fighting a useless war against the wrong people also helped in my decision.....vote Kerry! Sorry for the long angered response. furious

Thank you for your service to our country, Molsen. And it saddens me to hear that you along with many other men and women have been exploited by the Bush admin., and it angers me that a national tragedy was exploited to bring about it.

Also I'd be interested in knowing what Drfatality's response would be to someone who has been to Iraq and experianced Bush's failed policies first hand.
Maybe there should be a national Iraq veterans against the war association.

I was in my Statistics class (7 a.m. here) when my teacher came in and told us about 2 planes hitting the WTC. He heard it on the radio, so I don't know if he didn't hear correctly or the people in broadcast here are that ignorant (MAJOR possibility), but he told us it was an "accident" (the thought of a terrorist attack didn't even cross my mind until about an hour and a half later when I talked to a buddy of mine). My teacher simply asked us what the "probability" of 2 airplanes hitting (nearly) the same spot in such a short period of time was. I think we even did a problem in class with that scenario.

As for my reaction to when I found out what really happened: I felt bad for all the victims and their families, but also shocked (despite what I had seen during the Oklahoma City Bombing, sites like Rotten, "Faces of Death"-type videos) that something I'd expect to see in movies was happening in real life.

Yes, a lot of Americans commented it looked like something out of the movies. We, as a nation, have been very very shielded as a nation.

This, is good of course. But it has also had negative effects. One of those was discussed in the Terror in the skies thread, when we do incur these type of things, we are more prone to knee-jerk reactions.

Well, at least some people respect what the military do. My views totally changed when I set foot in Iraq. I voted for Gore in 2000, but I didn't hate Bush. When you're in the military, you can't say anything negative about your commander-in-chief (president). It is punishable by law. Yes, now I think he's a dumb ass. But that's my opinion. There are many people who support Bush. And I for one never thought that we would capture Sadaam. I give him credit for that, although Sadaam didn't do anything wrong.........this time.

I certainly do respect the military, my uncle was a D.I. in the army and fought in Indo-China(the VC and the Khmer Rouge).

And my grandfather was a WWII Marine, he served in 27 campaigns, 106 individual battles, including Guadalcanal.

And I'd be willing to bet you aren't the only Iraq veteran who's mind was changed on the war after being there.

I was in my first period Biology class. The first think I heard was "A plane just fell on one of the towers". No one in the room really knew much more than that at the time. I even think someone made a joke about it to release the tension, but this was before we new just how serious things were. By lunch period my sister actually showed up at school to pick me up. At this point everyone was rushing out to reach their families. When I got home I just sat staring out my balcony because I had a view of the towers across the bay (I live in Jersey).

I didn't lose anyone in the attack, nor did I know anyone personally who was in any of the building that went down. I have moved on from 9/11 and I really have nothing more to say about it. I wasn't one of those people who sat on the couch for weeks watching CNN, I actually went out and was able to go on with my life, which is what I think everyone who lived through that day to do. I'm not trying to sound cold about it, but sometimes the only way to go day by day is to stay focused on the present, and future. I've done my mourning for those lost, and I just want to get back to my life.

I was getting ready to go home from school, and the principal came up and said what happened. I couldn't believe it, all the girls were crying when I was going home. I just watched it on TV, and I didn't know what to think.
