Hey everyone just though I would create a thread about how I got my name here on MKO for anyone who might want to know why my name on here is LordSkarlet. Well here's the story:
I came across this site back in early July last year, all through I have known about this site for the past five years, reading the forum posts & news stories of Mortal Kombat but never created a profile. So when I came here again in July I thought why not & created my profile. When I was creating it, I had trouble finding out a name, I had an idea to honor my favorite character in all of Mortal Kombat, Kitana, but before I did I noticed one thing: There is a ton of Kitana fans here on MKO & I knew I would just another named Kitana fan just like all the others so I decided forget that idea. So I put the profile on hold while I went to play some Mortal Kombat (2011) using one of my mains, Skarlet. After defeating Kahn & watching her ending an idea came to me, maybe I honor her instead. So I went back to MKO & looked around & saw one thing: There is basically no huge fans of Skarlet on here as I can see, because of that, I became Skarlet's no. 1 fan here on MKO. So when I was typing in the name, Lord was already there because I thought it would be cool then I put Skarlet in there & boom LordSkarlet was created.
Well that's my story of my MKO name what is yours?

Riyakou is actually the name of a character I created back when I was about 10 years old.
I had originally created him to be Shinnok's father - yes, I know that's lame, I was 10 - but he eventually grew to be a major figure in many of my original literary works.
In 7th grade I had to create an email address for my Computer Technology class, so I created riyakou@hotmail.com. As time developed, I began including it in many online endeavors, and Riyakou ultimately became my official internet name.

10+ years ago, when I was a teen, I used to draw. I was planning my own manga, Negativ Xero, and Tetra Zeta was one of the characters. I joined MKO after catching some DA news. Using Tetra Vega, and it's been my online personality for 9 years.
Tetra is Greek for 4, tetras are also tropical fish.
Vega is Spanish for fertile valley.
People used to assume I was nammed after SF's Vega or Vega Obscura from the Zoids New Century/0 anime.

legoslayer10 is the name I developed when I joined my first actual site- RuneScape. I had never done anything of the like, and I eventually, after just typing in kinglego, was given an "Invalid". And then I saw it-
Under recommended names, I found myself looking straight at the name "legoslayer10". It was the coolest thing my 8-year old mind hed ever seen. (Yes, I am young, REALLY young)
Afterweards, I had become a MAJOR geek. I was online on everything, and I couldn't think of more names, and I didn't wan to remember any others. So thus, legoslayer10 become the ainternet Austin J.
If you ever go to a sight and see something like it, that's me. I guarantee it.
MK Wiki, Smashboards, and Animal Crossing Community. Even my original Gaia account was that name.
I never wanted to forget it.

Like many, I started out as a lurker. When Reptile's MKDA costume was revealed, I got sick of reading all the hate for it, so I registered with temporary name to defend the design. I had no intention of continually posting.
In retrospect, the tail really does look horrid. The reveal pic also showed his uglier alternate outfit which didn't help. That said, it was cool seeing Reptile finally resemble the raptor head in his MK2 ending, and it was certainly a breath of fresh air coming off of his MK4 appearance.
So yeah. That's how I got my name.

That is an awesome coincidence!
It reminds me of a character I created named Dion, who happens to be Greek. At the time I had no idea that the Dion Theater - or Theater of Dionysus Eleuthereus - ever existed, which is sad, because Dionysus is my favorite Greek deity.

I misread the name of a character in Naruto and decided to repronounce it too.

Ugh, the sad part is that that story of yours reminds me of the other main character for the story Jerrod was in, who was a tough sorcerer with a lot of physical strength, wielded a sledgehammer, and channeled the power of lightning. Sound familiar? I'll give you a hint:

I only realized how similar they were last year...
When I was really young I wanted some cool nickname and somewhere out of that came B$IN. Then I grew up a bit, matured, and relized that was fucking retarded. However, I ended up using that on pretty much any save game file, character name, ect in video games as I grew up and so it grew on me and pretty much just became my video game persona. It then later became my xbox live name, furthering that aspect. So when I signed up up on here a year and half ago or so, I just continued to use that persona. Side note: In terms of nicknames, I usually get called B or Bman by my friends these days.

well, ive used the name Khali since Final Fantasy on the NES and in every game (that you can pick a name) since. didnt even know of the name Kali and its associated meanings at the time although ive always been interested in those meanings.
"Kālī (Sanskrit: काली, IPA: [kɑːliː]), also known as Kālikā (Sanskrit: कालिका), is the Hindu goddess associated with empowerment, shakti. The name Kali comes from kāla, which means black, time, death, lord of death, Shiva."

Yeah, Vega is also my name in games too. Zelda, FF, PKMN, etc. Sometimes Tetra. Years ago, a translator online gave me Falling stone eagle or swooping vulture as the Arabic/Middle Eastern definition of Vega.
lol OMG Wind Waker! I remember someone called me pirate princess lady or something here years ago, I didn't get it at first. Funny cause I've always been a pirate too.

I live underground with 798 other submen
... It's not based on harlequin/Harley Quinn or any variation of word. I think at least once someone got mad at me and started rambling illegibly while calling me Harley Quinn. *shrug*
I just like the way it sounds... I first got it from hearing the song 'Bette Davis Eyes', which says "Her hair is Harlow gold" (or hollow... Internet says both!)... Which referred to the name of an old actress, Jean Harlow. I was looking for an 'old Hollywood' style name, so I went with Harlow. Since then it became Harle, just 'cause its such a gender neutral sound. People regularly mistake me for the wrong gender, which is fun for me...
