Considering we're all Mortal Kombat nerds, I would assume that some of us would have taken up martial arts at some point. However, to my knowledge, I don't think very many of us have. I'm actually thinking about doing it myself. I follow Mortal Kombat's own Daniel Pesina (Johnny Cage, Scorpion/Sub-Zero) on Facebook and Twitter, and I find myself really inspired by him and his videos. I'd love to do some training with him, but given that he's in Chicago, that's not going to happen. Regardless, I feel it's something I should look into, although I must confess I'm not so interested in the commercialized form of martial arts that's so prevalent here in America. Anyone here have experience with martial arts? I'd love to hear about it.

I was(am?) a green belt in karate. I took up a class as an extracurricular in Middle school. This was years ago sadly as I dropped it not long after graduating to green belt. What can I say? I was a lazy teenager.
Looking back on it, it was quite a fun experience. One I wish I had kept up with.

I do, I've trained throughout the years but couldn't do it for the last 5 years due to schools being expensive and I don't make much.
I started with Tae Kwon Do back 20 years ago in starting in 8th grade and got up to 1st degree black belt by halfway of senior year.
In college, I got up to Orange Belt in Kung Fu and Isshin Ryu Karate. I also learned some Krav Maga as well.
After college, I took some classes in Kenpo Karate and Aikido for fun. I did those classes around 2012.
Now adays, I just bike, run and do weights.

Yes, in fact I've studied Chucku Norrisu back in the 90s
Tae Kwan Do for few years as a kid. Small town school didn't last. There is a shotokan school but it seem like mostly all kid students and I'd feel like a creeper enrolling. Beside I really wanna learn ninjutsu but can't find any schools in Iowa.

Hey Baraka_MK, guess what?
Yes you're too far away from Chicago to train with the MK game's actors, but being in LA you're in the perfect spot for training with some of the MK movie actors! Can I suggest you look into Chris Cassamassa's Red Dragon Karate? He's got like 14 locations last I talked to him.
