I like em, and I'm a retro/Metal-fan =-0 ! They're good and their guitarist is also pretty skilled. Stone Sour's "Get Inside" had awesome guitar. I've seen the new video "Duality" and the song is pretty cool. I want to listen to the new CD. Only Monday over here?
I used to be a huge fan (around age 15), but lately after they're 3rd cd (Iowa) I got tired of them. The only cd of theirs that I listen to lately is their Self Titled CD(with extra tracks) I love working out to it, other than that I wouldn't consider myself a fan anymore. I remember when the 2nd CD Iowa came out though, I got the first copy they had at Fye
. Btw, it seems as if they're 4th cd has already come out? When was the release date?

i always thought slipknot was trashy and a bit cheap and ridiculous, but that's one woman's opinion.
i hear they are touring with My Ruin pretty soon, and if they like my ruin, i guess they cant be all bad.

Not me
I must give credit where it's due though, so here it goes - Joey is a damned good drummer, not the best I've ever heard by a long shot, but good none the less. Corey has a nice singing voice, though his yelling/growling is pissweak. And I was told by a friend that the new Slipknot album actually has solo's, which I guess is on Mick's behalf, so good for him. I remember hearing once that Mick wanted to solo ever since the start, but they wouldn't let him. Glad they grew a brain between all of them and realised that soloing = Good as.
I might give their new album a listen so I know whether I'm still right to bag them all the time

I used to listen to them a lot, but I started losing interest in them a little while after Iowa came out. Then I started getting into more hardcore/metalcore, and thrash metal like Slayer, and melodic death like In Flames. So I haven't been listening to much Slipknot in the past couple years. But I'll give their new stuff a listen.

For me Slipknot is one of those bands that everyone around you ruins. When I first heard them I was like "ok, that's cool". they had a solid drummer, and the guitars were alright. And at the time of their debut a friend of mine just kept on trashing them and getting on my case because I listend to them. Shortly after that "Wait and Bleed" became HUGE, and everywhere I went all I heard was that song, and that same friend who "hated" Slipknot all-of-a-sudden loved them. That alone was enough to make me sick of them, and after the hundreth time I heard "Ohh I hate metal, but Wait and Bleed is a cool song" from people who would NEVER listen to their other songs (or any REAL metal for that fact) I develouped a strong dislike for Slipknot. It's the same situation a lot of people had with the song "Enter Sandman" by Metallica. Those who really liked everything they did before that swore off of Metallica after the Black Album was played out; and anytime they here someone say that that is their favorite Metallica song they lose it.

No one like Slipknot man, even Slipknot knot like Slipknot.
No actually I'll admit once upon a time lallelallela I thought they were good, but then after listening to higher-class music (mostly metal) like NightWish, Slipknot sounds L-A-M-E-Knot-Knot. (remember -*-=+)
I give credit to my metalhead friend who's now literaly forcing me to listen to some deathmetal band (called 'Death-Switch Engaged' i think).
And this is the most ridiculous post I've ever written (the lalala thing among others) I'm sorry.

So you're saying in Subliminal Verses have "simplified" their riffs (in effect watered them down), and made their songs even shorter and more radio-friendly?

yes but it sold like 13 million copies
Actually, it's still selling, among the top-selling albums in the country. Either way, Subliminal Verses will never sell 13 million copies.
The difference is between the Black Album and Subliminal Verses is, the Black Album, even though it's a watered/slowed-down version of Metallica, is a good album. The music on it is good, simple, sometimes catchy, memorable, overall epic. Talented musicians played on it (well, except Lars, arguably). Meanwhile, the music on Subliminal Verses is only simple, and will be completely forgotten within a few years, if that...

Slipknot f'n rocks!!! I was going to get their new album today but i had buisness to take care of so i never got around to it, Tomarrow though
I never thought of getting those as tattoos, And i'm one of the most hardcore Transformers fans out there. I'm going to have to do that, But rather half and half. One half Autobot and the other half Decepticon.
