eeeeh. Not really cause the Patriot's offense is going to be a bit more versatile this year and Tom Brady is growing into a great QB. The Raven's don't have a viable offense.

thats my educated guess, and im not picking favorites, Seahawks are young, dangerous, and I dont see how anyone can pick any team in the NFC not named Seahawks, Eagles, or Panthers...I saw the Rams and Redskins...Rams have a lesser defense, and will get an automatic two losses from Seattle, and the Redskins have no offensive line...none, zero...no chance when your quarterback has no composure with a thin offensive line
for the AFC...the Dolphins now have two good receivers to go with their young and rising quarterback, and their running game is solid...their defense got a decent upgrade, thats why I chose them to upset the overrated bandwagon Patriots...also, the Broncos 2 most sorely needed spots, CB and SS were fulfilled with Lynch and Bailey...their running game will be solid since Shanahan has knact to push running backs to high levels...their passing game should be decent, if not, then Patriots, Colts, and Dolphins could make the super bowl...
Unless the referees screw them...again...I dont see how any team can beat Seattle...not even the Eagles...I think the Panthers could, but I doubt they will meet up...you guys might want to start showing Seattle a little respect because their offense and defense are young and overall theyre already a threat to the Super Bowl...they could be the next dynasty

Damn...not bad
The Seahawks will be really good this year, they have both offense and defense with Matt Hasselbeck,Shaun Alexander, and Koren Robinson runnin the O while Grant Wistrom,Chad Brown,John Randle, and Bobby Taylor on D.
Pretty damn hard to beat a team that well balanced

The cowboys are going to superbowl 39. With 5 superbowls and not a playoff birth since 2003, man o man you better watch out. Here hoping Dallas makes it..and eagles end up in 4th!
As far as uh the AFC...I think the chargers have a better shot then the eagles. Thats just my opinion. The divisional champion ship should be Dallas and Skins. Cowboys and indians. yep.
AFC..Indy and whoever...Indy wins.

ah you see, im enjoying this, Seattle has been my team since the Joe Montana Era...they havent been any good in the last decade, and the one playoff game they got before last year was 1999 but a bad pass interference was called in favor of Miami...but now Seattle has been built really well and we have a great coach, barring injuries, maybe at last I have a favorite team going to the championship since the Sonics met the Bulls n the 90s...
it feels good to be able to say my team could go all the way and actually not be picking favorites, rather backing it up, a lot of 'experts' from ESPN and NFL.com are picking them too...im loving it, especially when my Mariners fell flat on their asses this year
Slica - and for the guy under the guy im responding to...the Eagles are NFC, not AFC, and in fact they are in the same division...I think Dallas could make it, but they wont do damage
Possible Super Bowl Teams barring injuries, or any other damaging issues...
NFC AFC
Seahawks Patriots
Panthers Dolphins
Eagles Broncos, and Colts

I know that the Eagles are NFC, but I was stating that the Chargers have a better potential to make the superbowl than the eagles. I misworded it in my previous post. I at least think the cowboys will make it in the playoffs again..if they get any farther than that who knows. But with Bill Parcells as the new coach...Dallas has something to look forward to.

Well in the NFC, if the Eagles don't choke in the NFC championship game, then they'll be in the Superbowl. If they do, then I'd have to go with Seattle.
In the AFC, I think it's the Patriots.
In the AFC, I think it's the Patriots.

YES... I hope to see u all again this year, for another year of Beat the Blade!!! It will begin a week before the season probably, and I have some changes to the way we play, it will be different then last year, but not by much...
Don't forget, our reinging champion is the one and only, IceColdFire!
As for this years superbowl, the winner is....HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!!!
DAMN!! i was going to wait till august to make this thread..lol..oh well.. anyway..
can we say.... Travis Henry, Willis McGahee, Drew Bledsoe, Takeo Spikes, Sam Adams, Lawyer Milloy, Jonas Jennings, Aaron Schobel, Pat Williams, London Fletcher, Nate Clements, Troy Vincent, Lee Evans .. also top 5 WR in the nfl eric moulds.. the only reason y this guy doesnt get as much pub as T.O. and moss,is because he keeps his mouth shut .and he also gets hurt every other year..but in his good other year he has made ths last 3 pro bowls..this is a non injured year so it will be a forth pro bowl selection year for him
a quote from john clayton Here's the game-plan: Rookie Lee Evans has 4.3 speed and should draw attention at the split end position. That might free up coverage against Moulds plus give Reed more of a chance to get into the open field in three-receiver sets. The other big change will be getting the running backs involved in the passing attack. For whatever reason, former offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride didn't utilize HB Travis Henry as much in the passing offense last year. Henry went from 43 catches to 28, but he's a good receiver. So is Willis McGahee. With this type of talent and these changes, the Bills won't finish 30th in offense, and their 10.5 yard per catch numbers should improve.
So there offence will improve.its a fact..w/ the bills defense only giving up 17.4 points per game, and the fact it is intact w/ troy Vincent added to the back field, the bills d now has a legit intercepter!!! So just imgine how tough that D will be now..its scary!!! All the offense has to do is score 18 points per game..but they will score more w/ all the talent and the right coaches finally leading the way.. if mike Mularkey can turn tommy Maddox and kordell stewart into pro bowlers, man its scary for what he can do for Bledsoe!!!
Slica-said-for the AFC...the Dolphins now have two good receivers to go with their young and rising quarterback, and their running game is solid...their defense got a decent upgrade, thats why I chose them to upset the overrated bandwagon Patriots...
Lol the dolphins have 2 good wide outs?..lol david boston had 1..1 good year..he has stuck out the joint since then, hes to bulky..he has lost a good amount of speed!! I will admit that Chris Chambers is a good WR, but hes not elite..YET.. they have the all powerful ricky Williams.. and that great defense(myass!!!) the dolphins r every 1s pick every year, and where do they end up.. missing the playoffs again and again..they have good talent and do nothing w/ it.!!!!!
A rising QB.. what a joke!!! A.J. Feeley a good qb..lol what a joke, that year any qb could have played w/ that eagles O.. he will struggle in Miami..because 1- no qb since dan marino has played good in Miami..2- dont forget they have 5 new starting offensive lineman this year,it takes awhile to gel at the o line spot !!!
And ur picks for the afc.
Patriots (home field)
Colts (first round bye)
Broncos (division)
Bengals (division)
Dolphins (wild card)
Titans (wild card).
?? lol how can u leave out buffalo and kanas city?...lol just the fact that u put in Miami makes this a joke..
remember parity RULES IN the nfl..last years last place team can finish 1st as well as the 1st place team can finish last.. here r my picks to be in the playoffs next year for the afc..
1-kanas city..uhh can we say dick vermeil??..this guy will cry them into the playoffs!! And the true nfl mvp in priest holmes!
2-ravens (this team is just good.!!! I hate them but they have tons of pro bowlers..and top D player in league. Ray lewis.
3-houston (parity rules..watch out for this team this year!!)
4-pats (they have so much talent its scary, but they play in the NFL top division)
5-titans (last chance to win 1.steve mcnair is the only reason y they make the playoffs again)
6-Buffalo (now have the experienced coaching staff to point all that talent in the right direction)
Seahawks (home field)
Eagles (first round bye)
Panthers (division)
Vikings (division)
Packers (wild card)
Falcons (wild card)
Lol I hate them, but how can u leave out the cowboys? And st.louis?
I agree w/ the Vikings making it back to the playoffs, but as the top seed dont under estimate what ted cotrell will do for this defense!!!
The falcons r 1 year away they will be 9-7 and just miss the playoffs..same w/ the packers, they play in the NFL 2nd toughest division they wont make it!!
1-vikings
2-cowboys
3-st louis
4-panthers
5-eagles
6-seahawks
the super bowl will be between BUFFALO AND THE VIKINGS.. they have been to 4 and lost 4..who will win 1 finally? Tune into the super bowl FEB 2005

Oh, I fogot, you are all wrong. The best WR in the NFL is Marvin Harrison.

The NFC East is going to be the toughest division in the league once again starting this year, and it's gonna last a long time. We've got Parcells taking the Cowboys into the playoffs in his first year, we've got the Eagles with 3 straight NFC Championship Game appearances (choke), Joe Gibbs back in Washington (wtf?), and Coughlin has greatly overhauled the Giants staff and players. As a Giants fan, I can see one of two things happening:1. Because of all the changes in work ethic and coaching personnel, the Giants will be nothing like last year(thank God) and may have a chance at a wild card berth...Or 2. Because of all the changes in coaching and player personnel, the Giants season is once again a disaster. As for the Superbowl, I predict that whoever wins the NFC Beast wins the Superbowl. Let the flaming begin. *Runs for cover*
blade-tsung Wrote: Oh, I fogot, you are all wrong. The best WR in the NFL is Marvin Harrison. |
Harrison is the best Possesion receiver in the league. Harrison is known for his unbelievable catches he's made throughout his career. But Harrison cant do much after the catch like TO and Moss can. TO cant catch like Moss or Harrison. But Moss is the most balanced receiver in the game, he can run fast as hell, catch good as hell, and has great moves to get past the secondary.
Harrison is a great WR...but Moss is better..even if he is a headache
Speaking of WRs, here is my list of best wideouts today and possibly the best in the future
Best WRs Today:
R.Moss Vikings
M.Harrison Colts
T.Owens Eagles
E.Moulds Bills
K.Johnson Cowboys...he's on the decline though
and H.Ward Steelers
WRs of the Future
K.Robinson Seahawks
B.Lloyd 49ers
D.Stallworth Saints...maybe
A.Johnson Texans
R.Williams Lions
A.Boldin Cardinals
C.Johnson Bengals
and L.Fitzgerald Cardinals...maybe...he's looks too slow for the NFL but he makes up for it with his catching

U had me right here..
Best blocking WR in the game, I've seen him hit ppl just as hard as Ray Lewis on a few occasions

Savior u left out D. Jackson, I would say he is among the top 8 receivers right now, hes very underrated...
As for the one guy who said the Rams and Cowboys shouldnt be left out...Cowboys lost their fastest receiver and gained K. Johnson? Horrible, Galloway might not be the way he was with Seattle, but hes a better fit then K. Johnson...the Cowboys dont have much of an offense, and to rely on low scoring games is the WORST possible thing you can do in the NFC, especially with offensive juggernauts like Seattle, Minnesota, St. Louis, and with the Packers, and Eagles right behind them...for the Cowboys to make it, they have to outdo either Washington or Philadelphia, as I said earlier, Dallas could make it, but if they do, they wont go anywhere except home in the first round...
as for the Rams, I stated my case for them earlier, too...they absolutely did nothing...they lost a huge blow to their defensive line in Grant Wistrom...and to who? SEATTLE...Bulger is way overrated as he throws just as many interceptions as touchdowns...Torry Holt IMO is the best wide receiver in the NFL (and this is coming from a guy who hates the Rams...oh, and Marvin Harrison is great, but not the best, anyone with a quarterback like that is going to be pretty good)...Faulk will need to have a great year, which I doubt...and remember who is in the division with the Rams...the Rams have a better chance to make the playoffs then the Cowboys, and could do damage, but I dont think they can beat out the Eagles, Seahawks, or Panthers...unless of course they get some referees to 'trip' in front of their opponets when theyre about to run a game winning touchdown *cough-Seattle-cough*...
take this in consideration...the Rams were 12-4 last year...the Seahawks were 10-6...
one Seahawk lost came in Baltimore were the referees really fucked up with the time, and they did a bunch of no calls towards Seattle especially at the end where Terrelll Suggs choked MAtt Hasselbeck (everyone that knows anything about football knew that was a personal foul)...those few problems cost the Seahawks the game...if they werent done in by bad officiating (and I'll admit Seattle did blow the lead), the Seahawks would of been 11-5...
Now the game at St. Louis between the Rams and Seahawks...the Seahawks were down by 5, and what would of been the last play of the game, Bobby Engram (the best 3rd string receiver in the NFL on one of the best 3rd down coversion teams)...caught a pass up the middle and ran it back...noone was there to tackle him, and he was open for the game winning TD...the referee that ran with him, tripped, fell in front of him, causing him to trip, and the DB's came and finished the tackle...if that didnt happen as well as the Baltimore crap...it would be a loss for the Rams and a win for the Seahawks...
their records would look like this...
Rams 11-5 Seahawks 12-4
so really the Rams with last years team wasnt quite as good as Seattle...this year they lost one of their best players (Wistrom) and he went to the Seahawks...thats feedin the enemy man...if the Rams want to win their division they better be willing to wait a few years cause Seattle is real young and already a dominate team
so I hope I backed my reasoning for the Rams and Cowboys not making it, theyre good, jus they have tough roads to take, Cowboys the worst of 3 division threatening teams (along with Redskins and Eagles...which is probably 2 losses to each...4 losses right there), and the Rams have Seattle to deal with...Rams could very well be a wild card team, but definitely nothing more, if they make the playoffs, the could go a couple rounds, but I seriously doubt they can make the super bowl...
Slica - and thanks for the compliments, I really dont come here anymore but this thread kinda has me interested...and I may seem like a know-it-all, but I only talk about things I know about, and Sports---Baseball, Basketball, and Football, I know a lot about, so I can talk all day, as long as noone gets on my nerves about something..

Oh shit....I forgot all about the Rams and Torry Holt, another awesome receiver that has pretty decent speed and amazing catching abilities as well.
So Im adding Holt to my best WRs of today list
Oh and Slica, Jackson is a good WR...but to be named on the same list with people like Owens, Moss, and Harrison?
Jackson is good but not great, he hasnt really done anything thats caught my eye yet. He still has a way to go until I can put him in the same category as the Big 3 of Owens, Harrison and Moss right now.

..what would the eagles do with themselves now that duece staley is gone..and what would the eagles do if TO got injured...I see payback for Irvin....
well dont worry about the Eagles, their running game was triple-headed last year, losing Staley is a blow but theyll still work 3 different running backs, and with TO now on their team...they have all the more reason to pass...
Slica - no worries, Eagles will be fine, as long as they can win in their relatively tough division, and just pray they dont run into Carolina (defense) or Seattle (offense)

I don't really know who's going. A bit early for me to tell. Except when I predicted the broncos were going to win the year they go the new uniforms. Of course my reasoning was that they would want to sell the new look. But that would suggest corruption, can't have that. Ah-hem.
I hope its a good game, last years play-off through the superbowl was great. I really hoped the colts would have made it in (I like underdogs). So I hope they make it in this year.
On a side note, I hope they play at nipple stadium. I don't know if one exists, but if it doesn't, I want one built so they can play there.
