COMIC- I want psylocke and jean back! sniff sniff... Screw Emma!!! I want purple and Red, not bland white!
I like the new teams... but gambit is now blind!
this new "xorn" appeared
Chinese Warriors attacked
Alex and bobby keep fighting
Josh Guthierre keeps whining and blah blah
The fury appears
Looks a lot like PHALANX
takes over tessa... hell breaks loose
To profound and dramatic.... MORE ACTION AND BIG AS FIGHTS!!!
MOVIE: Jean will be back as dark phoenix
I hope now Psylocke replaces her as the team's psyckic. No more Halle!!! Apparently she dosnt want to play Storm because her roe is not big enough. They may do another casting or just cut Storm out.
Polaris would make a good addition to X-men... an new x-teams would be nice...

I also want to see the Hellfire Club...
and a new broterhood! (not just mystique, magneto and pyro)
Now that I think a bout it, they will probably wait untill X-3 is released befor reviving Jane (if they do). They always like to synch with the movies (like lady deathstrike reappearing after all these years!)

Yay, someone did my job for me.
Anyway, I lost track of what's been going on with Marvel comics over that past few years, and I'm now starting all over again(thanks to my friend who has been trying to get his hands on Amazing Spider-man #300, the first appearance of Venom). But I'm taking a different route, and began with the first series of X-Factor. I figured it's a good place to start seeing as how a)They're still easy to find b)The first issue marks the return of Jean Grey after the whole Pheonix saga c) Marks the first appearence of Apocalypse(X-Factor #5) and finally d) The Four Horsemen of the Apocalyspe saga.
I've also got a few others on my list:
-Uncanny X-Men #221 (First appearance of Mr Sinister)- already bought
-Uncanny X-Men #266 (First Appearance of Gambit)
-Uncanny X-Men #'s 210, 211, 212, 213 (Coinsides with the Mutant Massacre in X-Factor)
-Thor #374 (Same as above)
-Power Pack #28 (Ditto)
-Incredible Hulk #181 (First appearance of Wolverine)
Once I'm done getting those, then I'll work my way up from there. That's the problem with collecting comics, it takes a lot of time and money.
As for the X-Men flicks; I didn't like the first one, I thought the second was a great improvment(but nothing really special), and hopefully the third will be great.
I'm actually hoping they release more of the old Fox X-Men cartoons on DVD. I've got the three that are out right now, but it isn't that much. But now that X-Men is on on Saturdays, I'm happy again.

I quite like Emma, but Jean and Psylocke should be brought back.
The good old days were the best with Rogue, Storm, Jubilee, Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Gambit and Beast. I like Sage though, she's cool.
It's getting impossible to keep track these days of whats happening, I tend to follow the ultimate comics.
In X3, they had better keep Storm in, Halle or not. She's an essential X-Man, and has one of the best powers. I think we will see Emma and Beast in the new films, but would like to see Psylocke, Angel and Jubilee a little more than the other two.

I personnaly think that
was not very well represented in the movies. I'm not saying that about Hugh Jackman, but i'd like to see Wolverine a litlle more berserk then in the movies. Come on, it's Wolverine for crying out loud!!
Another thing, what do you people think of the Ultimate X-men comics?

Well what do you expect from a PG13 movie. They market the movies for kids to make more money. Until these things change, no blood in Marvel movies
As for Ultimate, ehh personally I don't care for it that much. There are a lot of problems I have with certain charecter designs(lot's of shapes, with little detail), and the direction some charecters have gone. I donno, maybe I was just spoiled by Frank Miller and Todd Mcfarlane growing up.
I think that Hugh Jackman did X-cellent (sorry, bad pun) as Wolverine. Though not as wild as more recent incarnations, they do hint at his darker side through flashbacks to his mysterious past... thumbs up
Think about this for a second, in his first appearances in comics he was introduced as tough and all, but never really as berserk (so that follows form)
and also, they want to create a character who you can sympathize for, and it's easier to do that if portrayed as human and not an animal. Now if they choose to take him in a devolved, animalistic direction, there will be more of an emotional connection (it could also help account for changes in appearance when Jackman hangs up the claws)
as for the PG-13 thing, yeah, of course it is... they want people to see the movie, and a good 45-60% of the pool is kids (look at the source material, comics, trading cards, action figures and saturday morning cartoons)... and of course doing more with merchandising, who else do you think will buy a load of related toys, school supplies and clothes? 30-year old X-fans (whose secret base is their mom's basement) can't do it all
Still, I think for PG-13 they pushed a couple things (which isn't bad) violence-wise, so it seems the filmmakers tried to be as mature as possible under a PG-13 bar.
To solve both problems, give Wolverine his own, R-rated movie. This allows him to be crazy sonuvab!tch we know that he can be, because:
1) It is a lot easier to do this without young mutants like Rogue and Iceman around to soften him up
2) It is also a lot easier to do this without having to cater to young mut- er, kids.

no blood in Marvel movies?? what about Blade 1, 2 and eventually 3? what about the Punisher (proof that much blood and violence does not a good film make)... there's even blood in both X-Men films, and a little less in Spider-man 1&2, the Hulk and Daredevil

I like Hugh Jackman too, and I don't think there is another person on this Eath who could do a better job. But the same cannot be said about Brian Singer. I don't think he's done the series any justice because he keeps trying to keep the story "real", and by real I mean the leather outfits, Xavier still in a wheelchair instead of the hover chair, and the lack of both the danger room and Sentinals. I think he should take a cue from Sam Raimi and have some fun with the movies. But then again Singer isn't as big as a fan Raimi is, or else we wouldn't have these problems.

I want Psylocke back too. She is the only X-Men character I really like. And she had such a shitty death too. At least the deaths of Collosus and Jean had impact and were events. Psylocke got a two page sequence at the end of some random issue.

Sorry I had Spider-man and X-Men in mind. Those slipped my mind. I stand corrected. There was very little blood in both X-Men movies, and same goes for Spidey. Ok, yes there was blood anytime Wolverine needed to heal, but here's a great example of a scene that had almost no blood:the raid on the mansion. Logan was tearing soldiers apart and I don't think I saw a single drop of the red stuff coming out of said solders. Not the one that was pinned to the fridge, not the one that took the claws to the throat, not even either of the two who got flipped with the claws. As for Spidey, there was very little blood, and a lot of bruising and scrapes.

New Storm for X-Men 3 IMO should be either Vivica A Fox or For an older appeal as I think she should be, the ever amazing Angela Bassett.
it's true, Brian Singer isn't a comic fan... but comparing Raimi's Spider-Man to X-Men isn't really fair
Spider-Man's universe is brighter and more fun than the X-Men... hard to be cheery and crack jokes when the whole world hates and fears you (well, it's kind of that way with SM too...) but Spidey's red and blue threads can translate a lot better than blue and yellow spandex (I died when I heard that joke in the first movie, lol)
Xavier was originally only in a wheelchair (and switches to that exclusively many times in the comics), maybe they'll put him in a hoverchair in future films... but i think if they wanted to, they would give him one (look at the overly steel, sci-fi and technological Cerebro) but as it is, Xavier (Patrick Stewart) in a wheelchair adds a feeling of vulnerability... i also believe that Singer and the writers choose to keep Xavier confined to the chair, because it is ironic: one of the most powerful mutants in the world is physically crippled

Just incase anyone in here didn't know, unfortunately, Bryan Singer is not going to direct X-Men 3. He and his writing team have decided they want to do a Superman movie. I wonder who will be doing X3. Whoever directs it better not screw it up.
Sorry if this has already been mentioned in this thread. I didn't feel like reading everything, lol.

Actually that's news to me, and I just checked it out at upcommingmovies.com, and sure enough Singer is out. This could be a blessing in diguise, or the makings of a disaster. Whoever it's gonna be, I hope he's a fan of The Cajun

Yeah!!! Vivica would be the BEST!!!! she actually looks a lot more like Storm than halle!!!
Regarding Jane and Psylock'sdeaths, I doubt (hope) they wont last long. They keep hinting Jean's return and Psylocke keeps talking to people astrally...
BTW. Does anybody know who Carter's father is??? is it the Shadow king?
Ultimate X-men was cool at first, but then it kinda went to hell. It's like normal X-men only MTV'd. I liked when storm couldn't control her powers and they didnt have the MASSIVE powers the normal x-men had. I like the more realistic and violent world though. HOWEVER ultimate should NEVER replace classic

I think i heard somewhere that there was gonna be a Wolverine movie, with Hugh Jackman.
And true, i felt cheated in the mansion raid, soldiers getting shredded to pieces, and noone bleeding. What about the Wolvie vs Deathsrike fight? Ridiculously nonbloody, but yet there are in total 16 (10 on Lady D. and 6 on Wolvie) adamantium claws involved.
Also another thing, wich noone has mentioned yet.
Was'nt Wolverine very short in the original comics? as in: 5 ft 3 inches?
And Hugh Jackman is? Much, much taller.

YEah... I think it would be FAR less traumatizing for the kids to see some blood than see metal dripping from Lady's eyes, moth and nose!!!
And yeah, wolverine is kind of like kano, the dirty hairy, baddass, short guy.... but they used Jackman anyway cause he looks like W and is a good overall casting choice

In you're case, very; seeing as how Sub-Saibot beat you to this by about 18hrs. Scroll up a little. Like I said before, I don't care for Singer's directing, so this isn't that bad of news for me.
