i havent purchased xbox live yet.. i dont want to drop 70 bucks on it if i dont know how it plays.. if you have a slower internet (ie. dorm room) will this be a hindering asset for quality playing?.. should i not buy xbox live or will a somewhat slower internet be sufficient?

Consider this, X-box only has broadband, but the true answer to youre question is that if you connect with broadband I dont think there will be a slowdown. By the way, X-box users have to pay like 50 dollars to get online with x-box :)

Not true. There are plenty of XBOX games that can be played online for free, including Halo (arguably the best game on XBOX...until Nov. 9, that is wink).

I have Xbox Live and it lags only once in a blue moon. (that's pretty rare) it does lag some, but not alot usually.
