If I were you I would go with the PS2, in the long run although the X-Box beats the PS2 on graphics, I think the PS2 has a lot more fun games. That's just my opinion, get a PS2 brother.

Well, as far as I know, the Final Fantasy series is just on PS2 now, but it depends on whether or not you like RPGs. I really can't name any off the top of my head. But with the way things go nowadays, no games are really exclusive to one system anymore, because companies know they will make more money if they make games for all platforms. I.E. Splinter Cell was only supposed to be for X-Box but then they made it for PS2. I read that Grand Theft Auto was exclusively for PS2 then before I know it they release the double pack for the X-Box. In my personal opinion the PS2 is just better. I don't know what else to tell you man.

I would definately pick PS2 over Xbox. While Xbox may have better graphics, the ps2 has way better games. Also, there are TONS of friends that i have saying there xbox stoped working for them.....all of a sudden, i mean literally, it just stoped, god knows why. Others of my friends say that the xbox screws up there game discs. Dont let that message tell you not to get xbox, i'm just saying what my friends say, it is totally up to you what you want to get. I prefer ps2 by far though.

Those games sound awesome.But I'm still not sure yet.I mean Xbox lets you download your custom soundtracks and listen to them any time you want.Also,Xbox has a built in memory card and console exclusive games like Ninja Gaiden and Halo 2.But I heard Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is coming exclusively to PS2.Also PS2 has a larger online community.So right now I'm still not sure.

It depends on your needs. Gamecube is the most economical/Amish system, really meant for standard tvs and WalMart brand sound systems.

PS2
Huge library of games. You think it, PS2 usually has it. It is the weakest of the 3 consoles in terms of specs. Online setup is known to be a pain, and PS2s have been known to break down out of thin air.

XBox
The better online experience if you have broadband and are willing to shell money for XBox live. While game selection isn't so great, it does have some good ones. It may lack RPGs but it does have the best one (Knights of the Old Republic). Ports are usually better on this system because it is the most powerful in terms of specs. If you're gonna be a power user (HDTV, 5.1 sound) then I recommend this system. The Xbox is awesome for modding but its also known to break down (but I find it easier to fix since its like a PC). You also have a hard drive, which trust me you will use, no memory cards are required (al though you can use them).

Controlers
I like em both, I have huge hands, and I prefer the original Xbox controller. Yes I'm on crack.
XBox has 4 controllers, so get the family together and play Dead of Alive.

DVD
I actually like the XBox better it terms of DVD playback quality, but not by much. The Sony seems to be a little quieter, but it lacks a lot of features, and its remote takes up a controller spot. Yet both systems are never good for a primary dvd player. Go pick up a progressive scan player.


Go with what you want. If you want to play a lot of games, and don't mind a slower (not too much) loading time, go with the PS2.

You want to play the best games, but only be limited to a very select few, and play games in 5.1 sound (I do its a blast!) then go with the XBox. Online serivice is great, but you do pay for it.

In terms of just MKD, either system is good. If you don't want to pay for online service go with PS2. Not to much has been mentioned or will be if the XBox version will be optimized for its specs.

Oh yeah 1 more thing, you do get a few months of XBox live when you buy a new XBox.


Hopefully I tried to stay unbiased. I have access to all 3 systems, but I don't play video games as much now. I'll probably buy 2 games a year.

I personally like ps2 wich i own but i also own a g-cube(G-cube suxs) im gonna trade my g-cube for an xbox i like ps2 better than xbox though xbox has better graphic but ps2 is not to far behind im gonna get that xbox comco deal two games xbox one cotrol or two(not sure) 2 months of xbox live free

I have both because both have their ins and outs, so they come out evenly matched. I also play both the same amount. Unfortunately I don't know which I am going to buy MK:D for. I think it will be X-Box, and here are my reasons why:

-X-Box Live requires a broadband connection to play online, so there will not be any slow dialup connections sucking up bandwidth while I'm playing MK:D, whereas PS2 allows dialup which will make online play a bad experience.

-X-Box Live might have downloadable content for MK:D such as more items for your custom character from Konquest mode.

-Graphics will be better due to X-Box's hardware.


Then again maybe I will just buy MK:D for both systems.

I have both but I like XBox more cuz of it's graphics, and much faster loading times.

XBOX blows the PS2 out of the water. ps2 is junk. And oh yeah, MK looks MUCH better on xbox.

Well, I have a GC and a PS2. Sometimes I wish I had an xbox. Most of the greatest PS2 titles are for the Xbox aswell and they look better like:
GTA 3& Vice City, Metal Gear Solid Substance, MKDA,....
Each have their own exclusivity like the Final fantasy series and the Gran Tusimo series for the PS2. But the xbox has Halo and Ninja Gaiden for example.
I'm keeping my PS2 because of MGS3 and Gran Tursimo 4 mainly.
It really depends on the games you want to play.

if you are getting it for deception I would wait until online play is absolutely confirmed for the XBOX before I buy an XBOX. Midway may pull an EASports on the Microsoft crew and you would all be fucked without a PS2.

I have a PS2 and my friend has an Xbox, They look exactly alike to me in terms of graphics and loading times. As far as graphics go, I'm giving that to the GameCube (re:remake and re:0 blew me away!). I personally love the PS2's controller and the ENORMOUS game selection.

It's already confirmed for the X-Box to go online!

I'm back,and from what I've read I'm still not sure,but I'm leaning towards Xbox.I don't have much money so getting both is not an option.I'm glad to see so many people responding.Your helping me a lotI'm probably going to Toys R Us to buy a system after I hear a couple more posts.Thanks and keep posting.

Dude, what are you talking about? X-Box has a solid gaming future. If it didn't they wouldn't bother making the next X-Box system to compete with PS3. Besides, I have both systems and I think both are great. Almost anyone like yourself that bashes one system or the other is because they can't enjoy the fact that both systems are good.
