Isn't it great to see so many people who recognise real skill rather than the crap that gets put out by other genres, we must expand this following to the entire MK online community.

yeah i totally agree! Although I must admit to not being a Manson supporter, some of these stories about him just really don't appeal to me.

You know, about 80% of the song choices in this thread depress the hell out of me. Some people can't discern between what is art and what is generic substance used to make money. Anyway, since I can't say just one song, I'll name my favorite bands and their best songs:

In Flames - Embody the Invisible
Iron Maiden - Hallowed Be Thy Name
Blind Guardian - Mordred's Song
Dream Theater - Leaning to Live
Beyond the Embrace - Mourning in Magenta
Metallica - Fade to Black
Dio - The Last in Line
Dark Tranquillity - Loss for Words
X-Japan - Tears
Slayer - Spirit in Black
Killswitch Engage - Self-Revolution
Pantera - I'll Cast a Shadow
Soilwork - Million Flame

And many, many more.

I like this thread. It's good to know that some people still listen to metal. Everybody listens to shitty rap "music" where I live.smile

Anything from Slayer. More specifically, "Dead Skin Mask"! Just listening to that song, it sounds like the band's talent is squeezed in there to its fullest extent.

^Frick yes. One thing I love seeing are Aussie MC battles where one person claims to be a gangsta, and the other person carves them a new lyrical arsehole for being too American.

No way! There are hundreds of guitarist better than him.

The new lead for Frenzal Rhomb for example, Whitt from Spiderbait, Edge from U2, Randeath from Project 86, Noah from Pillar, Scott from Soulframe, Mac from The Benjamin Gate, Simon from Blindside, Marcos formerly of POD.

All those guitarists own the guitarist from TLE.

Haha, I've been saying that for years now... Australia may aswell change it's name to America 2, it's pathetic how many "gangsters" there are here.

Anyways, a tiny bit of metal stuff I like.

Beyond The Embrace - Drowning Sun, Plague, Redeemer, Release, Bastard Screams, Within... I like every song this band has written, really,

All That Remains - From These Wounds, Home To Me, Focus Shall Not Fail & Regret Not (they tie together), Tattered On My Sleeve.

Bleeding Through - Wake of Orion, Our Enemies, Love Lost In A Hail of Gunfire, On Wings of Lead, What I Bleed Without You.

Disarmonia Mundi - Blue Lake, Guilty Claims, Demiurgo, Mechanichell.

Into Eternity - Burried In Oblivion & Black Sea of Agony (they tie together too), Morose Seclusion, Splintered Visions.

Dan Swano - Anything this guy does rules... Nightingale, Edge of Sanity, his solo project, the countless other things he has surely done.

Embraced - The End... And Here We All Die, The Fallen, Princess of Twilight, Putrefaction, The Beautiful Flow of an Autumn Passion.

Evergrey - Beyond Salvation, A Scattered Me, Solitude Within, Rulers of the Mind, Fragments, More Than Ever, In The Wake of the Weary.

Insomnium - Death Walked The Earth, Bereavement, The Day It All Came Down, Ill Starred Son.

They're a few of the bands/songs I've been listening to alot lately.

Im talking about skill wise, Cheney's guitar is an extension of his body! And to play riffs that are exremely difficult and sing lead vocals, that needs some serious skill, have you even listened to some of their songs
