You ever wonder why there is an isle in music stores called Pop/Rock? I mean it's the most awkward thing in the entire store. If you look around there is a Country isle, Rap isle, Latin Isle, R&B isle(depends on the store), Jazz isle, and here's Pop/Rock that sticks out like a sore thumb. It's just weird seeing Slayer right next to Brittney Spears, or Black Sabbath next to Blink 182. And it's not like Rock and Pop have anything in common, especially these days wen rap has become pop (pop as in popular, not the style of pop). Hell there are even Movie Soundtrack and Dance isle. And why is it called rock anyway? Rock is too broad of a title. When I think Rock I think Kiss, Led Zepplin, The Who etc., can be found in this isle. And what about the bands found in the Pop/Rock isle that aren't really either (Sublime, 311, No Doubt). Why not just break this monsterous ilse into several smaller ones, wouldn't that make it easier for everyone?

i wonder how they make pop-tarts. I mean i occasioanyl watch "unwrapped" with marc summers, and he shows the viewers how things are made, but pop-tarts somehow have this strange magnetic pull to me. I like the strawberry kind.

Thanks redman for the sig!

Huh! That makes a ton of sense! Can't believe they put Billy Idol right next to Billy Joel.

Hahahaha...?
I'm making a MUGEN game called Mortal Kombat Trilogy SpongeVanced. I add a bit of humor to it by adding SpongeBob and stuff.
Oh yeah. There's a pizza made by California Kitchen (I think it's called that) and it's been sitting in the freezer. For weeks. And weeks. And weeks. And weeks. And weeks. And weeks.

I think it's kind of arbitrary at this point to categorize music in music stores by genre, because so many genre barriers have been broken down. I mean, if you look at a band like Limp Bizkit, they're rap-rock; you're more likely to find it in the pop/rock section than the rap section, but can you really say it "isn't" rap? Look at 311. They mix rock, rap, reggae, and a whole shitload of styles. And a lot of "pop" is a lot closer to rap than it is to rock, while other pop is closer to rock.
By the way, Thelonious-Monk, Otto said that, not Homer.

Well I did make mention of bands that don't nessecerily fit any mold, but Limp can still be catagorized as Nu-metal...This subject isn't something that I'm totally serious about, just something I found funny. I use it as a part of my rants amongst friends. Actually getting rid of the genre's and listing everything just by alphabetical order would be much easier.
Ohh and Mrsatan666, you're one lucky SOB. I was actually using the two FYEs in my area as references. That and Best Buy.

Just a few hours ago I was flicking from channel to channel and landed on a home shopping channel. now I was about to change it when I noticed that they were selling a Lebron James Rookie of the Year car for $800! Now at first I was like well I can see why it would be expensive, but $800!? Hell I can buy one of each console out, plus memory cards, and have enough left over for some games. $800 for a small piece of paper and ink. And then the thought of how much that same card would be in 10 years. I would probably be enough to buy a small home. I think people pay way too much for stuff like trading cards sometimes.

Bad example, IMO. Maybe why they put Billy Talent next to Billy Idol... that's a bit of a contrast.
And Nirvana is good. Maybe they weren't the saviours of music, but they sure made an impact either way. Alice in Chains was pretty good, but out of the grunge era bands, I'd have to say Pearl Jam owns all. They've got the biggest repertoire of kickass songs around.

It's weird...so many people hate them because they are overrated, yet, you have to have a lot of people like them to be overrated.
Meh. Actually, I don't think they own, just one of my favorite bands, that's all. I needed something to say.
