Second of all, it's not being developed by Rocksteady studios which worries me. And it's on current gen consoles. Considering Rocksteady already has a project going that is completely under wraps, I'm guessing this Montreal team was handed the Arkham prequel Rocksteady was working on so that the latter could focus on a sequel to Arkham City on next gen consoles.

Black Mask is gonna be Awesome! Him being in will be the reason I get this game.

I don't really know or care much about Black Mask but Deathstroke !! He is badass I can't wait to see how he is in this.

I still hope Batman's iconic villains like Joker, Harley, Bane, Scarecrow, Killer Croc, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Freeze & Two-Face will be present. Catwoman should be in too.

If they do GTA San Andreas sized Gotham City with ALL of Batman's vehicles, ill fuckin get it. And since this is a origins story; a young and inexperienced batman in their words, there probably won't be any sidekicks in the game (robin, Nightwing, batgirl)

Honestly though Batmobile and Jet would be dope but now that I think of it would Batman even have an arsenal of such badassery at a young age??

I honestly hope they don't go overboard with the making the city huge.

What I loved about AC was that everything felt so focused, the side missions where all unique and could have been part of the main story!

Even the buildings, almost every building had a purpose and had some backstory, rather than just being "generic sky scraper".

I really feel like they can't go backwards now, they had 4 playable characters in Arkham City and I think each of those should make it into Origins plus maybe pre oracle Batgirl, Deathstroke, hell even throw in Green Arrow with his rising popularity at the moment.

(I mentioned those characters are there not super powered and having someone like Superman or Green Lantern would not work with the freeflow combat system)

Okay guys so this is some of the stuff ive gathered.

Batman: Arkham Origins comes out on PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC on October 25th

Batman: Arkham Origins is based in Gotham City (Duh but it leads me in to my next part of news). The map is TWICE the size of Batman: Arkham Citys map because it has Old Gotham and New Gotham.

The game will be based/start on Christmas Eve

Theres a spin off game called Batman: Arkham Origins: Blackgate for Playstation Vita and Nintendo 3DS

You can fly the Batwing for the very first time. You will need to take out hacked towers that send out jamming signals to fly to certain places.

Theres a new gadget called the Remote Claw where you can at two different targets and pull them together.

The Old Gotham part of the map is similar to Arkham City except with the Prison Walls while the New Gotham part of the map is more upscale with skyscrapers and regular civilians.

There are side missions (Duh) including some that make you watch security footage where you have to watch it from different angles over and over to gather clues.

Amusement Mile returns in Old Gotham but this time it isnt flooded. The Bowery also returns but not much info is known about either of them.

There are eight assassins hunting Batman down.

There are two new confirmed "modes" as of now. They are "Crime in Progress" where you help the GCPD and build your reputation and "Most Wanted" where you track down non assassin villains.

The main characters that have been confirmed to appear in the game are:

Bout damn time. I was expecting the Batmobile to come first, but this will work.

Chances are that he would make it into the game but I'd like to see Gorilla Grodd in Arkham Origins, maybe a fight in the old Gotham Zoo?

The Joker will probably be in someway but what I really want is the Man-Bat I just recently discovered this guy, he is amazing and needs more attention.

It would actually be a crime if the game excluded Nightwing, Oracle and Catwoman. I'm sorry but those three characters alone have some of the most definitive relationships of all of Batman's friends and foes. Plus Grey DeLisle is way too good at voicing Catwoman to just fall off the Arkham bandwagon. She should be included in all of the upcoming Arkham games! :D

Interesting news indeed. Shocked this isn't a next gen project. I guess they're saving next gen batman for rocksteady.

As far as it being developed by a different developer, I'm not worried. They have complete access to rocksteady's engine. Rocksteady is advising WB Montreal along the way. The road map is there. As long as they follow it, innovate where necessary, I think it should turn out great.

I wonder if there is going to be as much interior stuff this time. I'm assuming with a larger city that the "dungeon crawling" aspect of the series may diminish some.

Overall I'm optimistic. Although I have been burned by one prequel this year(damn you god of war ascension!).

Really, and I know it's shallow, but I don't want Joker in this game if it's not Mark. I'm fine with other people doing the Joker, the guy in Injustice seems to be doing a fine job, but I don't want another person doing Joker in an Arkham game; that would just throw me off when replaying them in chronological order.

I am VERY worried about this. A different (and less experienced) studio handling my precious Arkham games? They better work their asses off, Arkham City was an absolute masterpiece of detail and thought. Unfortunately, Origins can't afford to be worse than AC.

It's also kind of weird that it's called Arkham Origins yet it has nothing to do with the Arkham name (as far as we know, so far). Arkham Asylum and Arkham City was such a nice progression that going backwards feels off at this point, especially after all the clues to a sequel that AC gave us, like Hush, Azrael and Harley.

We will see.

All I need is Miss Kyle and I'm sold.
