I watched some other leaked gameplay videos and there is no Blood in the super Moves!

Some of them have a little like Batman, Aquaman and Catwoman.

But Joker, Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl... nothing... so weird!

I hope Europe will get the uncensored Version.

I'm really okay with no blood in this game. I would even be okay with no character damage. I mean, if you want blood and gruesome imagery, why not just play MK?

Obviously because people want blood in a DC game....

I wasn't surprised they toned down the amount of blood in Wonder Woman's super move, but in the demo there is no blood at all when she slashes the opponent in the super move.

But I am happy with the amount of blood in the game overall, and the battle damage is perfect. I kinda hated the over the top battle damage in MK. For example I like playing as human Sektor, but after you get hit like 5 times you see his ribcage is exposed. Same thing with Kabal, after a good few hits his mask is broken off and that's my favorite part of his costume. Another good example is like Scorpion's arm looks like a shark took a big bite out of it, you get the point.

I wonder if there's going to be an option to turn off blood/damage. I can understand the reason why they didn't include that option in MK since the game is so focussed around violence, blood and killing. But Injustice is a game about superheroes, so you know kids will more than likely want to play it. Not sure if they would want to see Batman all torn up or Wonder Woman missing pieces of her skin on her arms and legs.

I have no problem with this. People need to get it through their heads that injustice is an entirely different beast than mortal kombat.

Because this isn't MK, I don't consider blood a necessity in this game. However, I would be surprised if there wasn't just a little bit of blood. I mean, this IS NRS we are talking about here! It doesn't need to be all gory, but just in more or less realistic amounts.

I don't mind it. As long as they removed the sound effect for all the blood as well. I don't want to hear it and now see it.

I wouldn't really mind if they ditched the blood and battle damage, this isn't MK.

1. How do you know it's not turned off?
2. How do you know this is the final build?

Guess I have to be the one to disagree here. First of all, hello everyone - name's TΛPETRVE, I'm a n00b here.

So, about the toned down stuff: Yeah, the game could do pretty well without the blood and battle damage, but since it's already in, NRS should strive for some visual consistency. That means, it makes precious little sense to have characters bleed like a slaughtered ox over mere fisticuffs, but then remove the slightest semblance of blood as soon as a weapon comes into play. There's nothing wrong with an option to tone down the violence, but since it's in, it should be somewhat consistent. The way some of the censorship is handled looks just lazy. That said, the exaggerated flesh wounds that appear on some characters do indeed look a bit out of place, especially without accompanying blood that leaves proper stains on characters and surroundings. A few bruises in the style of MK vs. DC would've sufficed.

And speaking of MK vs. DC, that game was overall notably more kid-friendly than Injustice will be, and that's saying a lot. MK vs. DC had a few quirks like Sonya Blade's exposed boobs and one or two bone-breaking special moves, as well as a few of the nastier fatalities, but otherwise it felt very Saturday-morning-cartoonesque with its weightless and floaty combat, hits that would never visibly connect and puffs of red smoke instead of "blood".

On that note: Even with the blood and injury detail toned down or turned off completely, Injustice would be absolutely not safe for kids. The combat may have its silly moments, but there's still a lot of very raw violence in there. Best example would be the Joker: Pretty much half of his attacks consist of jabbing a knife somewhere into his enemy's body (preferrably the abdomen) and pulling it out again. In his complete intro animation, he uses a dead policeman as a ventriloquist puppet; the cop's face is smeared in blood and peppered with cuts and bruises - everything shown in a nice closeup. Joker's winning pose is less explicit, but still pretty damn violent. After dousing his opponent with petrol and lighting a match - shown in his first Battle Arena promo video, before the camera would cut away - he throws it and then keeps warming himself over the fire until the player exits into the menu. It's all firmly rooted in Teen-rated territory (and a lot closer to what was considered safe for teenagers back in the 90s than the watered down shit we often get today), but I'd skip such scenes with your 8-year old kid around and rather duke it out with Superman and Green Lantern instead, who at least fight with exaggerated fantastical powers rather than savagery.
