I just hope this is the final game with this chapter type of story presentation. It obviously hurts "supporting characters".

A mode similar to Tales of Souls from SoulCalibur 3 would be nice in the future (with more cutscenes per character), so everyone can get some love.

It kinda brings to mind the countless versions of movies you get like extended editions or director's cuts. It's still the same movie but with a few added scenes to flesh things out a bit more. I'll remain optimistic for now.

Well I'd buy it, but I think with a fighting game, where a good chunk of the audience unfortunately doesn't care about story, they'd have to pack it with a bonus character, I think, to get the most profit.

But honestly, I feel like more story content is the standard of what the ability to create downloadable content for games after they've come out SHOULD have always been used for, DLC should be the modern equivalent of what "expansion packs" for PC games like Baldur's Gate and Starcraft used to do.

Anyway, as far as the supporting cast getting stiffed on screentime, I'm thinking some of that might be made up for in the STAR Labs missions, some of that content seems to be pretty neat character-based material, not just pointless minigames.

Gutted Catwoman's role in the story is so minimal. It seems whenever NRS do a story they treat their characters like something from Commedia Del'Arte, where a lot of them are just stock characters with no real contribution to the story. As a fan of both Mortal Kombat and DC, this kinda upsets me, because there are characters I've grown up loving who just don't get the screen time.

Don't get me wrong, I love Batman and the Joker. But two chapters for Bats? One for the Joker? I know they're popular but they had chapters in the last Story Mode for MK vs DC, it would have been nice if less iconic characters such as Harley or Raven had chapters. I commend NRS for making Story's for their games but it's a bit of a raw deal when the character you love gets dumped into the punch bag/under developed category.

They should review how they do their Story Modes and have individual stories per character as the Arcade mode takes place like the way it's done in Street Fighter. A prelude when you pick the character of why they're involved, a rival match in the middle to expand on the story, a pre-boss fight to expand on a bit more story and then a final show down at the end with their main rival (causing the story to finish for them as their ending).

Now THAT cut me deep man,Nightwing's characterization's bad AND i still have to wait just over a week to know why! Okay....Did Yuri Lowenthal at least provide a decent voice? I've been trying to find gameplay videos with....but he's been as silent as Arkham's nightwing....and THAT worries me alot...NW fans,you know what i'm talking about.

After seeing all of story mode I think them picking characters based off of where they'd fit in said mode is bullshit. Some of the characters could've played the same part in only a passing mention.
I like Hawkgirl a lot but she definitely wasn't needed.

I finished watching it too. The Flash is my fave in the story mode. I don't remember ever seeing the version of Black Adam with hair. I watched this over 3-4 days so I'm starting to forget previous parts lol.
