I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but I was curious as to why DC doesn't want their characters performing any type of finishing moves. I mean I watch a lot of DC animated movies and there's a lot of murder and blood shed, so why not have it in the games as well. I liked MK vs DC, but I know it would've been more enjoyable if there were some type of bloody grotesque finishing moves allowed. I'm really excited and anxious to get my hands on Injustice when it comes out and I'm buying it finishing moves or not, but I just don't understand DC's way of thinking if they have deaths and murder in their comics and movies then why not in the games. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd say the main reasons could be attributed to these two:

1. They don't want their heroes being killed. In the animated movies and comics etc., yes, there's violence and killing etc. However, it's usually not their heroes being the ones who are killed. You want your heroes to be strong and look unkillable etc. So they likely don't want them killed in the game.

2. (Likely the bigger factor at play) They don't want it rated Mature. They want the game to be rated Teen at most, to be able to sell more copies and reach a younger audience.

Well, about point 2 all I have to say is that usually M rated games sell more copies than T rated games.
And in europe there's no law that forbids children or even teens to play Mature games, PEGI is just facultative, not mandatory.

The whole "rated T sells better" thing is just a bullcrap, IMO.

Another factor to consider is that a lot of superheroes, like Superman and Batman, have no kill stance on crime fighting. Fits with the whole being heroes bit.

So having them bloodily rip each other apart would be pretty out of character.

The same goes for Marvel, and yet we have the Marvel Zombie Universe where the zombified heroes eat intestines and brains every day.
Perhaps we should learn to understand how video games could be set in different universes than the original canon of the comic.
