I'm with you there man, I find myself refreshing the news page over and over again to see if there's something new, I gotta find a new hobby. And we probably will get a DLC poll once the remaining iconic characters are revealed.

The biggest battle I am having with this game, is maintaining both a casual fanbase, as well as a competitive opinion.
When I play MK9. I am no longer looking at character attires, story, visual candy or great music. I look at every character as 1's and 0's. Toolboxes of attributes that are applicable to a competitive fight, and how effective they can be.
I honestly don't even focus on the characters anymore, as somebody who competes. I've sort of become desensitized to competition.
It is now, that I am forcing myself to take a step back, and remember why I loved MK (and now Injustice) in the first place. I was born a casual fan. I love lore, background, character development and plot progression. I know a pretty damn big percentage of the MK lore. But it doesn't even play a factor, anymore.
I am sort of "basking" in the atmosphere we are in, right now. A state of unknowing. Anticipation. Realizing hopes coming to fruition, or being let down. The victories and defeats, without even playing the game.
I grew up with Batman. I love anything to do with the comics, movies, animated series etc. I know it ,in and out. This game poses as one of the first real open gateways for MK/fighting fans to integrate into DC (my case, aside the Batman lore) and to adopt a new universe, with open arms. And obviously vice versa. In my mind, Mortal Kombat belongs in the comicbook world. It is deep, has a ridiculous cast and insane story potential.
I see many fans of DC, migrating to follow the lore of MK. Which will influence (out of critical view) NRS to really do things great and positive, with the story.
Anyways. I am very excited. Its good be willingly be casual, and not competitive. But once this game is released, all bets are off. In one hand, my casual inner fan is ecstatic that Harley is included. I am also hoping for Scarecrow, at some point. But in the other hand, I know it really wont matter in two years from now. Characters will be toolboxes and movesets, once again. No amount of me loving Harley will help her bad matchups, and alternate routes will be considered.
Loving this process.

My excitement for Injustice comes and goes. When Captain Marvel's render leaked, I was going insane. Then I see the gameplay footage in Monday's video, and my response is just lukewarm. Without the adrenaline rush of something truly new, it's hard to stay focused on this game.
That said, I am looking forward to it. The greatest part of Injustice is that I can actually have fun with it. With MK9, sentimentality had a lot to do with character choice (which isn't a bad thing), but being able to soul-search in a fighting game is something haven't been able to do in years, so Injustice will be a special FG for me.
But about that sentimentality I have with MK? It's sort of dead. I'll maintain character loyalty, but the emotional investment I had in the story and lore is long gone. When MK10 is on the horizon, I'll be interested to see how they approach the art designs and characterizations, but that's about it.

as a fan of dc im just glad they are finally doing a fighting game period.
imo i believe mk vs dcu was only a test to see how fighting fans and dc fans would respond to tell you the truth.
i just hope they hold a poll every 2 or 3 months wich involves dlc because they can do alot on that alone

About Me
As Mr. Sloan always says, there is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in pie. And there's an "I" in meat pie. Anagram of meat is team... I don't know what he's talking about.

Me too man, the more I read about it and the little trickles of info that comes out, I get more and more excited.

Im happy that I will enjoy a fighting game I will play more often. Im not a fighter fan except for Mortal Kombat, but even with MK i rarely play for long time. But Injustice looks like a game I will enjoy picking and play casually and possibly see new characters over time.
Also gives me hope that Marvel can possibly make a standalone Fighter game (not those Marvel vs Capcom ones) :D
