Not going to write a novel but damn. I feel like ever since MKVSDCU and Injustice came along I've lost my excitement level for Mortal Kombat. I think honestly MKDA was the only other game besides deception that really kept me immersed. Am I an mk fan, yes always will be but now that DC characters are used in fighting games with Injustice it's more at home for me as a fan because all these comics I've read or characters I've spent hours researching about and reading about are here and it's just amazing to me. I like the rest of you love comics plus it's a fighting game sometimes I feel that the core of my excitement comes from games like injustice mvc etc. I love it and find it very addictive.
Injustice 2 looks amazing and I'm proud to say I'm Maxx Hype!

Shockingly, as much a fan I am of comic books and a diehard Mortal Kombat fan, the first Injustice did not hold my attention beyond a month. In fact, once the season pass was complete I was pretty much done. I downloaded the last character from it (Zod I think? I forget who it was) just to try them out, and never played again. There will never be a fighting game quite like MK for me.
MK v DC renewed my hype for Mortal Kombat, which was destroyed by the 3d era. Even if I didn't give Injustice the love it deserves, I certainly am pumped for I2.

While I liked Injustice and will buy everything related to Injustice 2 I don't think it's even close to being as cool as MK to me, I like superhero stuff also movies, tv shows etc
But when it comes to fighting games MK > all others
But when it comes to fighting games MK > all others
I had never read a comic book before Injustice was announced back in 2012, I thought that I should buy some comics to give me a feel for the DC Universe and I am so glad I did, I really didn't know what I was missing! I'm a regular comic reader now and now that I am more familiar with all the characters it's so much more exiting to see how this game develops!

Injustice 2, even in its early stages, already looks hype as hell. There's still a lot of questions to be answered as far as the "gear" system is concerned, bum I'm 100% on board so far. As I said before, Atrocitus is an early candidate to be my main but I'm gonna hold out for Swamp Thing.
Injustice 2 is gonna be on IGN and Gamespot's E3 streams today as well, hopefully we'll see actual matches instead of b-roll footage.

Yeah i'm hoping for some match footage myself.
One thing I can say I hope does not return from the first Injustice was the bizarre way all the matches ended.
"Argh! I'm knocked out. No...I'm not...i'm getting up agai----oh, no, i'm too tired, I'm gonna drop to my knees."
And while I don't expect fatalities in any sense, I do hope they introduce dramatic ways of finishing the opponent. I mean, these are super-powered entities battling each other with all sort of powers. Catching a fire a bit, or having a few batarangs stick out of, or smashing a crater into the floor when you've been defeated isn't too far fetched, and isn't "fatal" in the sense of a comic book character.

Ha! Confirmed.
Watched the IGN stream, "The Pride of the Sunset" asked all the right questions. Looks like there will be a tournament mode to use vanilla characters in competitive settings. Also, while not set in stone, they may have separate ranked match experiences for those who want to play the game online with gear, or without.
Supermoves and stage transitions have been shortened a bit so we're not all twiddling our fingers during a long cinematic. Apparently there will also be a way, during super moves, to boost the damage a bit via button press or combinations at certain points during the animation. Kinda like " pro" moves in MK vs DCU.
Gear does seem to have an effect on character traits as seen when Supergirl was outfitted with her gear. Whether this is purely cosmetic or actually changes the trait property remains to be seen.
Also, it looks like the characters that do return will do so with recycled movesets ala Street Fighter/Tekken. Batman, Superman, and Aquaman's specials and combos were pretty much identical to the first game. This is the first time since the 3-D era the NRS has done something like this, but it absolutely makes sense. This way, they can concentrate on the bigger roster, while refining and rebalancing the old move sets. Nice to see this forward thinking from NRS. We don't have to reinvent the wheel every game. Ironically, there are already a couple tourney level players that finds this dumb for some reason. *shrugs*
Lastly, micro transactions did come up in the discussion. While Boon said nothing is set in stone, he pretty much confirmed they're in. I really hope that doesn't tank the balance in this game. There's always tournament mode, I guess.
I will share your sentiments in saying that my anticipation for Injustice 2 is basically mouth froth-inducing.
As a (pretty much) lifelong comic guy, it's wonderful to see our favorite characters from our childhoods finally being realized thanks to the advancements of technology. Whether its movies or games, we are now in an age where we truly see our heroes come to life.
Boon and co. have already done a tremendous job from just the demo alone, and frankly, the wait for next year is going to be an excruciating one.

Ugh, I just saw it in action. Why the Hell do they have that? It's one of the things about Injustice that I considered downright stupid. And it's back.
Also, Black Manta confirmed as transition only.
Hype meter just got nailed by a super move. Low health.

Your guess is as good as mine. It's like they're trying to go out of their way to prove they're not dead at the end of the match.
