Just read it...and wow...if you haven't started reading this leadup series yet, you are doing yourself the Injustice. It's definitely an awesome way to lead up to the game's story. I can't wait to see how everything plays out.
Seriously, go buy the chapter(s), only 99 cents each on comixology.com or DC's website. My words will not do this Justice...

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
-Superman carries Lois's body into Metropolis, where he can be alone.
-We then see Batman interrogating the Joker in Gotham Prison, asking why he would mess with Superman, it's always been about them. Why bring him into this. Joker talks about beating a puppy to death with a kitten last week, and how at the end when it's just blood, fur, and brains everywhere, it just fills him with this glow. Joker got tired of losing against Batman. He wanted an "easier" target.
-Meanwhile, Flash and Green Lantern rescue some citizens, bringing them to the outskirts of Metropolis, away from the blast radiation etc.
-Wonder Woman goes to talk to Clark at ground zero, and he has tears streaming down his face blaming himself "I killed them". She tells him it's not his fault. He then asks her to hold them, and keep them safe. He flies away.
-Green Lantern crosses paths in the sky, Superman asks where the Joker is. Lantern tells him. Lantern says he's hurt, he;s angry, he should just take some time off. Superman ignores it. Lantern tries to stop him, Superman busts through the light shield. Superman then takes the ring off Hal's finger and he plummits towards the earth. Superman catches him, sets him on the ground, still holding onto his ring. He then destroys his radio communicator as Hal tries to warn Batman.
-Batman continues to interrogate Joker. Joker talks about how Batman must have gone through a tragedy in his life, to turn him into the way he is now. Imagine what that would do to a god like Superman, pretending to be a man. Batman says some people he can't corrupt, Clark will grieve, but he'll always be the good man he knows. Superman busts through the window and pushes Batman away. Joker says this time, it'll be a lot "funnier", beginning to laugh, as Superman shoves his fist through Joker's chest, with his hand being shown coming out of his back.

Y'know what I find odd?
The characters in this, even with all the death and status quo upheaval to set up the plot of the game, are more recognizable in personality to me than they are in the Nu52 comics.

How is the Joker still in Injustice? As someone stated before probably just in flashbacks

If I read correctly. Chapter 1 of the game takes place sometime up to the end of this issue. The few hands-ons said that there may even be years of gaps.
Not sure. I don't want to spoil much, other than the comics.
