Modern man's mastery over technology grants him a godlike omniscience over a perpetually expanding digital universe. Alas; as many users of MySpace have long since discovered omnipotence is not all it cracked up to be. Once, long ago, this power held some degree of fascination, but an age of man-god digital natives can only be bemused by paltry ancient interests like narrative, characters and semi-nude unlockable costumes.
Fortunately for a generation that would otherwise live fast and die young feasting on each others living flesh -- video game scientists have discovered new methods to make life in digital worth living. They are called achievements (or trophys) and they make even the most mundane of tasks a quantifiable thrillride of heavenly delight ne'er before experienced. In fact, before achievements, video games were glorified screensavers.
Earlier this month, Injustice: Gods Among Us achievements leaked to sites like the creatively titled xbox360achievements.com. Almost as thrilling as playing to earn the achievements is reading a list of them [following]:
