He does have some of the flying brick powers that Superman has but he can also shapeshift and become intangible. He's also telepathic. I'm sure he has a host of other abilities that MINION could tell you about but those are three I think he uses more consistently.

I think a whole lot of people got caught up in MINIONs' campaigning for the character. Outside of that he's well known from the Justice League cartoon and from the last few seasons of Smallville.

I'd much rather have Black Canary, Grifter or Blue Beetle. Martian Manhunter is kind of the Hawkeye of the JLA who's always on the team but nobody truly loves or cares about him.

Anywho, while we wait for that gentleman to drop some manhunter knowledge on us, I must say I'm shocked that you haven't noticed all the people that are frothing at the mouth for this character. Hell, go back to about the time of the batgirl announcement, may not have been the manhunter bunches finest moment, but its hard to deny the passion.

Then why can't he support his own series? Black Canary has Birds of Prey which is still ongoing while even Grifter could keep a series going longer than Martian Manhunter.

I certainly can't speak for his popularity outside of this game(community), but he has absolutely been the most requested character from the beginning. That's a fact.

Super strength and speed (varies how much)
shape shifting (this alone opens up lots of fighting game potential)
Invisibility
Super Durability (not to the degree of Supes but he can absorb a lot)
Super Endurance
Regeneration
Flight and levitation
Martian Vision (which is heat vision, xray, and every other kind of vision combined lol)
Telepathy, he can read minds, mind control (The Joker he struggles with because of how insane he is lol)
He can also cause hallucinations in people, induce sleep and things like that

He is also just generally super intelligent and a good detective. He could be a beast in Injustice.

It's possible his fans are a vocal minority. As much as I see people clamoring to have him in the game I hardly ever see people excited to PLAY him in the game.

I think instead of justifying why someone wants a character, someone should have to justify NOT wanting them. It's way too easy to extol the virtues of a character, but not so easy to indicate why they're not worthy outside of "he/she sucks".

That could make a cool special move maybe a defensive phasing FU projectiles and stuff.

Martian Manhunter started off sharing similarities to superman. But through the course of his design he's developed more traits that make him unique and not to comparable.

For example he can phase through most anything, but that also has it's limitations. There is certain elements that can render this trait null.

He can shapeshift unlike superman, and is not prone to magic. However Fire is his weakness so i guess in a sense they share that same sense of weakness.

Martian Manhunter is more decisive then superman. Superman is really intellectual but he's more of the superhero who takes action rather then plan things out accordingly. J'onn has mentored many of the JL members, aside from Batman. Batman has always been the solo protagonist in JL.

However J'onn can do many things the others can't. Telepathy is one major priority of his and helps during battle where if he can't be present he can still channel his thoughts through the minds of others.

The thing that makes his back story unique is that when his home planet was being attacked by white martians he was teleported to earth by a scientist named named Dr. Saul Erde. Not only did this save J'onn from death but also gave him a chance to learn about human life.

My favorite trait of his would be his Shapeshifting. The fact that he can don a costume out of martian skin, be primal. or take on an appearance of anyone he chooses is really awesome.

He is on a power level close to superman. However I think that he is in-fact less prone to things that could harm him. With again fire being his only real weakness.

What makes him an excellent character for Injustice is the fact that he presents a lot of different specials and uses of his abilities that is not present in game. Shapeshifting (Shang Tsung) Intangibility think (Smoke Forwards/Backwards MK9) though i think this would be better suited as his trait instead of just a special move.

There's a lot that can be done with the character. If ed is given the go ahead to explorer the character in depth and put that in game he very well could be the most diverse character in the game. Simply because he takes what superman has already, and utilizes that with the abilities he owns. Thus making him more expansive in special usage and gameplay.

Martian Manhunter is really one of those characters who you don't get a whole lot of. But once you explorer his universe and read the comics you will find that he's really interesting. And while people love (Batman) Brilliant Strategist. (Superman) Brute Power / Raw Strength. Manhunter falls in between both those catagorys. He's both Powerful and Intelligent. Which offers balance in the character as a stand alone or team player.

If you're really interested, there's a video explaining him in a nutshell. It will make it easier on you because you wont have to dig and read everything.
