Well we know there will be both categories, but what kind of categories would these characters fall into: Poison Ivy, Zatanna, Plasticman, Circe, Mirror Master, Black Canary, Felix Faust, Red Tornado, Hawkman, and Aquaman?

Do they refer power characters to the big brute type characters or magic characters since they kinda referred to Superman and Solomon Grundy as power characters?

I prefer the Gadgets. Man wouldnt it be the most awesome experience ever to troll your opponents with weaponry playing as The Penugin. God I wish this was a Batman fighting game with Flash, Superman,Wonder Woman and LexnLuther in it.

I'd love to see the Penguin utilize his umbrella for attacks and some wind-up penguin bombs. I actually can picture him being a rather slow yet powerful character, and could even see him with a Mary Poppins Attack lol and it actually fit his character and the fight itself.

I think that the Penguin, Joker, Scarecrow, and Poison Ivy should all be included for their uniqueness. Not so sure what background elements the Penguin could bring to the table like the others could but I'd definitely like to see what he could do. I also wouldn't mind Killer Croc and Bane, but with so many slots do we really need so many big bulky characters, we need a variety of uniqueness. I'd rather see more interesting villain characters like Mirror Master, Despero (NOT SNES style, but NRS Style by making a better version), Black Manta, Circe, Mongul, Sinestro, Lobo, Doomsday, Captain Cold, Darkseid, and Parallax.

I just hope they don't pass up the opportunity to make trees, plants, flower pots, cacti, interactible for Poison Ivy and the same for water elements for Aquaman, I could really see a man-hole shoot up from a geyser below to inflict damage on Aquaman's opponents in a combo or summon a tsunami from the background of his Atlantis stage for a semi-super move. I just hope the NRS doesn't avoid using characters like them; similar to Capcom being scared to use Namor/Scarlet Witch or not know how to add them to a fighting game, it's called being CREATIVE, there's just WAY TOO MANY OPTIONS FOR THAT EXCUSE FOR DCU!!! IMO, this IS the perfect game to finally see those type of characters. I also think that Scarecrow could use the background IF THE CHARACTER IS ASLEEP EASILY and would probably bring back memories of Batman Arkham Asylum; between him and Poison Ivy they were the best part of that game!

Yeah, Captain Marvel and Deathstroke we're ok in MKvsDCU but honestly they stole the spots for Aquaman and Poison Ivy, which I'd have died to see either character make it in. Remember Aquaman can do way more than Marvel's Namor.

If the current button indication is any indication, the "hero" button is going to do something exceptionally character specific with every character, so that'll probably be where the neat stuff is. GI says batman uses it to summon his little bat drones, Flash can slow down time, and Supes has some kind of rage mode. I'd put money on this being how WW switches from Sword / Shield to Whip modes too.

As far as power / gadget, I would say prepare yourself for disappointment. Like the cast there is probably no way they can satisfy everyone without a ton of exceptions (Aquaman must be power since he doesn't use gadgets, Question must be gadget cause he sure can't pick up a car) when they only have two possible answers. I mean, even at current, what is Flash considered? They haven't exactly said what he would do with the car.

Hopefully in the end they just give everyone a lot of options for what to do with the environment, so it won't matter what they're called.

Either that, or they're just not going to far outside the spectrum of possibilities.

Thanx Fenix, that made a lot more since now that you said it: when the game 1st was shown, the way they stated "Power character" made me think strengthwise and not with actual "Powers", after watching the most recent Boon interview they actually stated "characters that use powers". I thought at first we were going to get no magic characters and just a bunch of brutes like Bane, Killer Croc, Gorilla Grod, Darkseid, Doomsday, etc. and thought they were considering Wonderwoman as a gadget character with her sword/shield/lasso/tiara and Flash with the armor as a Power character (like they gave him armor to equal him to Solomon Grundy).

So there is still hope for those with unique abilities: Poison Ivy, Felix Faust, Aquaman, Plastic Man, Red Tornado, Circe, and Zatanna!!!!!

I would assume a lot of characters with oddball or not universally useful powers / gadgets will make the cut just based on popularity like Aquaman, or Hawkman or Manhunter or whatever, and its possible they'll just wind up being "power" by default.

Regardless of what they're classified, I think we've already seen there's gonna be movelist diversity. Harley's got the guns and the big joke hammer, and wonderwoman's got two styles of combat and even Grundy has that weird zombie summon thing, so I'm sure if Ivy or Canary or such make the cut, they'll do'm justice.

Even thinking back to MKvDC tho, what would like Catwoman or Deathstroke do with the car example? Hopefully NRS goes that extra mile with the arena stuff for every character and its not just car slam or drop bombs in it over and over again.

Well I assume Catwoman and Deathstroke will do what Harley Quinn does with it.
