So, maybe Ares gives humans "god-like" stability to go up against meta humans in order to keep Superman and Wonder Woman from preventing all future wars, which would make Ares obsolete. Explains how "normals" could fight Superman, Shazam, Black Adam, etc.

My thinking exactly! This would a pretty clever plot device on NRS' part.

If the explanation makes for a good story, then awesome, but I would have been okay if they didn't have a plot point explaining why the Joker could beat Superman. It's a fighting game. When I played MvC2, I didn't require an explanation as to why Server Bot could beat Thanos to enjoy the game.

Explains why Superman asks Wonder Woman if gods can die. IMO, that correlates to "normals" being able to fight supers in battle. "Normals" may be beaten if bestowed with god-like resilience, but not "killed". Seems to me, magic is a big part of this story since Shazam, Black Adam, and Ares are part of the game. Also might explain how the Joker was able to rise from death. Hades.

Exactly. I certainly don't mind a great story, but whenever people played MK vs DC and bitched about Catwoman vs. Superman, it just kind of made me want to punch them in the face...many, many, times.

That does make sense, especially with the sub-title 'Gods Among Us'. That may be the reason we haven't seen a story trailer on him yet.

You just destroyed my mind. That makes so much sense. How could we have missed that? It could also be interpreted as the presence of all these figures, though. As we originally perceived.
Interesting.

Indeed..........perhaps that's why the characters glow in a Gold aura when they use their supermove....kind of like "Rage" in MK vs DC......
