The CW is developing a Flash television series as a spinoff of Arrow, CW president Mark Pedowitz confirmed The Flash is being developed revealing "Dr. Barry Allen" will be introduced as a recurring character in the upcoming Arrow: Season 2 and "we're planning an origin story."

It will be interesting to see how Flash is incorporated into Arrow’s world, which so far has had no characters with superpowers appearing in it. I'm hoping to see DC build a bigger cinematic/live-action universe have wondered if they could tie Arrow into Man of Steel, indicating Arrow takes place in the same world as that film and opening the door to super-powered characters existing, here's hoping for a Gorilla Grodd episode grin

That's interesting. In my head I think Flash may be difficult to do because of how often Clark's super speed was a boring and overused deus ex machina in Smallville. Maybe if they start him off a little slow. BUT I'm glad they may be introducing powers into the equation especially since Black Canary is showing up as well.

If they rely more on the other abilities Flash has with his powers instead of just making him a red blur every episode I think it would be fine. They defiantly need to touch on how dangerous his powers are as well. And Grodd could be done in a combination of man in suit, animatronics, and cg. Television is starting to step up in terms of quality as we can now do more with cg. Wouldn't surprise me if in ten years time we are having this conversation about every dc character, as the 2 hour movie format is slowly becoming a thing of the past.

I thought a Flash movie was confirmed?

Wouldn't it be a bit confusing having two flashes speeding around?

I heard today from a friend that it is due in 2015 only, so I guess the series could be a nice origin story.

Either way, I wanted a Flash movie for a while so I'm happy.

Now more players will pick up the Flash in the game as well I guess. Underused amd underrated.

I too had read that Flash the movie was supposed to come after Bat/Superman (world's finest?) and before Justice League.

If Flash appears in Arrow, I wonder if he (and Black Canary) will have powers confused

I think the animated Wonder Woman movie sold really badly. Or at least comparatively badly compared to the other ones coming out at the time.

I loved the Wonder Woman animated movie. I own it on Blu-ray. I hope it didn't sell poorly.

Anyway, I think they're trying to get a Wonder Woman series going. We had that one misstep with Adrianne Palicki. But the latest I've heard is they're trying to get a Smallville-esque Wonder Woman show going called "The Amazon", if I recall correctly.

I think Barry's background as a criminologist will be implemented pretty heavily, relying more on that than just him being able to run really fast. Like, the powers will be used for scene transitions/transportation, but it might end up being something like a superhero meets Criminal Minds type thing, which could be cool.

Yeah its on pause at the moment.

There seems to be a new WW animated cartoon series. But it was very stylised and she drove 1950's US muscle car based on her costume. Left a bit of a weird taste.

Also that pilot had the worst costume ever. Really did look like a second rate fancy dress costume. EVEN PORN has done a better costume: http://www.egotastic.com/2013/03/the-wonder-woman-xxx-parody-has-better-production-value-than-the-actual-wonder-woman

Anyway. Yay Flash. I like Flash and I hope its good because DC need to start making good stuff that isn't Batman or Superman.

All the porn parodies have really good costumes actually. It's so odd. Ahem. Anyway the redone costume that changed the leg material in the costume made it not so ridiculous but it was too late lol. Interestingly enough it reminds me of her Injustice primary.

This is actually incorrect. The Wonder Woman movie had much higher sales than the Green Lantern movie and the Justice League movie that came out the year before. The only movies during the same time period that sold more were Superman/Batman and Batman: Gotham Knight. It is their highest selling non-Superman/Batman movie to date. And no one can reasonably expect any other characters to outsell those two, especially Batman.

Also, the movie was the best reviewed out of all of them and I read more than one critique that said it was the best original DC movie at the time. (I actually still think it is the best.) Yet GL got another movie and WW did not.

The latter part is kind of my point. And reviews always mean less than profit. But yeah I vividly remember seeing that somehow it either underperformed or performed worse than others and that was the reason Supergirl didn't have her name on her movie.
Although I suppose I can be making that up lolconfused

Yea I really enjoyed the Animated Wonder Woman movie, I love anything DC Animated! though Amazon is on hold for a while apparently!

I just remembered the animated Flashpoint came out this week, must pick it up. EDIT: Just watched Flashpoint, its great. Probably the most violent DC animated movie yet as well.

Flash and Zoom, that's camera terminology. What's next – Focus? I'm very interested in these series that, spiritually, have sprung from Smallville.

I'd be down for Jay Garrick or a future/alternate Barry Allen.
Not sure this will be the show to really deliver on those types of characters, though. Maybe!

Love the Mask, the muted colours and the flattened "ears" means I think he will fit into the Arrow-verse nicely.

ONE THING thought, the back of his neck looks like a collar...like the suit isnt one piece, I really hope hes not wearing a Jacket.
