- 'The Flash' casts 'Prison Break' star as Captain Cold
The Flash is getting a chilly character addition this fall. The CW’s Arrow spin-off has just cast Prison Break actor Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart, a.k.a. Captain Cold.
The freeze-gun-touting villain is one of Barry Allen/The Flash’s biggest adversaries in the DC Comics, and is the leader of the Rogues—a group of his enemies. Miller will guest star as the character in the fourth episode of the show’s debut season this fall. “We’ll be seeing his origin and the origin of the Rogues,” said executive producer Greg Berlanti.
The news was announced at the show’s Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour session in Beverly Hills on Friday. DC Comics chief creative officer Geoff Johns called The Flash “the most faithful DC adaptation ever.”
Fair enough.

Faithful? Wow, I chose the New 52 Cold because I was guessing they'd go the meta-human route. That makes it sound to me like they'll actually give him his cold gun.

Hyperbole. I don't think the benchmark for being faithful is terribly specific.

- Amanda Pays to Reprise 1990 "Flash" Role on CW's "The Flash"
The CW's soon-to-debut series "The Flash" has added another link to the original "The Flash" TV series: Amanda Pays will play Dr. Tina McGee, the same character she played in the CBS show that ran for one season from 1990 to 1991, as reported by sources including Variety.
Though the character name is the same, the situation is different: In the earlier "Flash" series, McGee was a scientist at S.T.A.R. Labs. While S.T.A.R. Labs is very much a part of the new show, McGee will be an employee of a rival scientific firm.

- EXCLUSIVE: Grodd Strikes in New "The Flash" Photos
Upcoming "Flash" episode is set to air "Grodd Lives" airs Tuesday, May 5 on The CW. Here's the official description of the episode:
GRODD RETURNS! - Barry (Grant Gustin) must deal with the Reverse Flash's (Tom Cavanagh) latest threat to a member of the group. To make matter worse, Dr. Wells unleashes Grodd on the city in order to distract Barry and the team. Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) head down into the sewers to catch Grodd but the gorilla quickly gets the upper hand after he kidnaps Joe. Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry have a heart to heart talk. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & Kai Yu Wu (#121).
Damned if I can bring myself to sit through these things, but when they get something like this out, it at least draws my intention. I don't agree with the sentiment that this is an 'unashamed representation of the comics', but a gorilla clutching Flash is as good a shot as any.

- "The Flash" Unveils First Look at Teddy Sears as Jay Garrick
I'm never gonna like this show, but it's hard not to get a thrill seeing Jay Garrick in any capacity. Unflattering comparison, though. TV Flash looks like such a dork, ugh.

Sigh. I wish the whole series was always just about Jay Garrick.

- Jay Garrick Returns For The Flash’s Christmas Episode
Odds are that the “present” that title refers to packs multiple meanings, considering that the Flash so often dabbles in time travel and the December 6 episode also happens to be a Christmas episode. The installment will also see the return of Earth-3’s Jay Garrick, played by John Wesley Shipp. As with the previous appearances of the real Jay Garrick (and not the evil imposter that tormented team Flash throughout season two), it looks like he’ll be giving Barry some moral support.
Inconsistent silliness aside, I like John Wesley Shipp as Jay Garrick. Good choice for a warm Christmas episode. Any fans?

Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
BARRY SEEKS HELP FROM JAY GARRICK — With Alchemy and Savitar still looming threats, Barry (Grant Gustin) is unable to focus on the Christmas holiday, and especially his relationship with Iris (Candice Patton). Determined to stop Savitar, Barry goes to Earth-3 to get advice from Jay Garrick (guest star John Wesley Shipp). Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to help Barry fight Savitar and reveals that he’s been training with H.R. (Tom Cavanagh), which doesn’t go over well with Barry. As Cisco (Carlos Valdes) faces his first Christmas without his brother Dante (guest star Nicholas Gonzalez), old wounds are reopened. Rachel Talalay directed the episode with story by Aaron Helbing & Todd Helbing and teleplay by Lauren Certo.
