Why model Mars in the game?

You can see it plainly behind Sinestro during his super, however I haven't seen anyone take notice or mention it. After this scene, Sinestro grabs two big asteroids and smack his opponent with them, and you can see the Earth below, about the Moon's distance away, so why isn't the Moon in the background. Why Mars? I think you know where I'm going with this.
It appears that they took their time to go out of their way and model in a detailed model of Mars. You can even see the Valles Marineris! Not to mention they are completely bypassing astronomical accuracy just to have it there, at such a small distance from Earth.
All I have to say is, I hope this means Martian Manhunter has some kind of important inclusion in the game.

It looks just as detailed as Oa from Green Lantern's super move, so I wouldn't read that much into it.

Yeah, but to me, seeing Mars in Sinestro's super move is equivalent to seeing Oa in the background of Superman's if Green Lantern wasn't confirmed. I feel like they wouldn't go out of their way to include it, if it didn't have some purpose at some point in the story.

Well that's true but let's hope that MM doesn't end up as a background character or just a cameo in Story Mode.

There's always a chance for that, but it just seems with 26-28 slots, he has to be one of them. I hope that, at least.

I just have this back feeling that MM won't be playable or he'll be a background character for an arena or Story Mode
