Well, I'll compare these two on a point by point basis.

Moveset: Cyrax. Duh. One of the most eye-popping, unique repertoires in the series. Reiko's moves were almost always knockoffs of somebody else's.

Personality: Reiko. The cyborgs always lacked charisma. Reiko at least had the lulzy Shao Kahn Fanboy thing. No, I'm not a fan of his comic incarnation, but to explain why would waste the reader's time.

Design: Draw. Even beyond the Shao Kahn mimicry, Reiko's look just screams "typical video game underling." He needs something to look more otherworldly. Meanwhile Cyrax would look cool... IF he wasn't bright-ass yellow. So yeah, draw.

Finishers: Fittingly enough, this clinches it for Cyrax. His MK3 Fatalities were terribly animated dreck, but that Nothing But Net finisher in MK9 has always been awesome to me. Let's not even get into Reiko's finishers.

2-1-1, Cyrax.

Went with Reiko. Agree with the sentiments that he should have been in MKX. Cyrax is cool too though.

Tough call, but I'm going with Blaze, mostly because I loved the story of the 2 brothers, Daegon and Taven, and Armageddon.
In my imagination Blaze is this slender, tall, young, devout priest of Delia who sacrifices his mortal body in a ceremony in order to be the vessel that contains the power of the Elder Gods, meant to be wielded by the saviour of the realms when the time of the final battle comes.
I can only imagine what would drive a person to relinquish his body and be reborn as a firespawn. The game offers no backstory except for Blaze being created by Lady Delia, but he was probably someone before.

As for the scores still showing 0% for Blaze even after I voted, I'm just gonna take that as a glitch ;)
I don't want to think someone is arranging these votes

Until Blaze, along with Taven and Daigon, are given the reboot treatment, I will always vote against them. The stain of Armageddon is not easily washed away.

Kotal Kahn is one of the more compelling new characters. He gives off the vibe that he's as all powerful as his conquering predecessors, but, peel back a few layers and you find he's more or less a politician willing to do anything to keep his post. How will he react when the Dragon King returns for his throne? MK11...I want you now.

Going with Blaze but don't think of it as me voting for Blaze, but as me not voting for Kotal Kahn. I liked him in the comics, I did not like him in the game. He seemed like a coward.

Unless Kotal Kahn has a Drakesword that can be able to kill the Firespawn, I'm giving this match to Blaze...oh wait shitty writing from NRS made Shao Kahn the winner and he didn't have to use a Drakesword! Way to throw Armageddon and its relevancy to the timeline under the bus, Boon!

Kotal Kahn is my favorite newcomer in MKX. Despite his story treatment, he was still a compelling character. I really like his design and "buff"-style gameplay.

While his Armageddon plot was mildly interesting, Blaze was largely forgettable.

While i personally liked both of Blaze's forms, and story with dragon egg/armageddon, I still went with Kotal. He has more character depth and i like his unique look and movesets are all very strong, if a little slow.

Favourites: 'human' Blaze, Sun God Kotal.

This is actually an interesting way to decide voting. I'm going to use this.

Moveset: Kotal Kahn. I didn't enjoy playing as Blaze in any of the games, and most of them just revolved around fire, while Kotal Kahn had some fun variants.

Personality: Well, Blaze doesn't have much so I'm going to have to go with Kotal Kahn.

Design: Kotal Kahn. Guy made out of lava and fire just doesn't do it for me.

Finishers: Blaze doesn't have any, so Kotal Kahn.

Backstory: Kotal Kahn. He had a developed backstory in the comics involving some sort of ancient tribe. Blaze on the other hand... not much to go on.

In a fight: Well, in a battle between these two, I feel like it would mostly depend on what form Blaze would be in. If we're assuming the form on top of the pyramid, then Blaze, although the card shows DA Blaze, so Kotal Kahn.

Kotal wins 6-0.
Voting Kotal Kahn.
Kotal has been a welcome successor to our beloved Emperor Shao.
Great, inspired design theme, and moves. Very interesting addition to the cast.

Nothing against Blaze. I do love me some fire. Both have bright futures, and potential, as does the rest of the cast, barring our personal biases.
