*sigh* since some of you are obviously struggling to grasp the purpose of this fake, let me be a little clearer.

I am trying to make a statement here that shows that with cheap programming-effects, it doesn't take any time or effort at all to make a fake. I spent less than 3 minutes on this, it cost me no effort at all. If you actually looked at my other fakes it would be obvious that this is not serious.

Repeat after me, children: This is a commentary on lack of standards here at MKO. This is supposed to be a sub-standard fake with no real edits and cheap programmed effects. These kinds of half-assed fakes are what is praised as the good stuff here at MKO, which is wrong. Anyone can do it! This is what I'm trying to show here, babies.

I like pretty much everything about it apart from the lightning coming off smoke ( who looked like predator from first clance), I dont know what term to use for the lightning apart from it looking a bit cheap, without that its brilliant.

Why does everyone think photoshop effects are crap??? As long as it looks cool and is original, I think its a good fake. I like the water effects. I don't see why everyone hates them. So what if it only took a few minutes, a fake is just sprites pasted on a background with an idea.

Well, I've never used photoshop, so I can't speak from firsthand experience, but I'll take fedegita's word for it that effects like that probably don't require any real effort. Look at some of his other fakes, which contain some nicely edited sprites and backgrounds, and you'll get an idea of what fakes look like with some effort put into them.

What am I talking about? Fakes that are being posted just to prove a point. What is this? A competetion? I understand that lately mediocre fakes are being praised unlike what fakes are meant to be. But who cares? Fakes are meant to be creative and something that was meant to be "fun."

There is another way of making a point. And that is...simply moving on. Keep doing what you do best. If half-assed fakes are getting praised, so be it. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you think your fakes are a lot better than what newbies are currently posting, how does YOUR fakes compare to back then? Keep in mind who pave the way for you to even think of getting to the "MK Fake Pic Business." There had to be someone who inspired you.
