Awseome fake, one of the best backgrounds I have seen in a long time. The only big change I would make is Smoke's smoke, which looks kinda bad.

I like the life bars, they were the first thing that stood out when I saw the picture. The background looks great; you’ve done a good job on it. But I’d agree that Smokes smoke doesn’t quite look as.. um.. Smokey as it could. It just seems a little miss-directed and a little too thick for the amount that is present.

Really like it. The background is very original. It looks awesome. I like smokes sprite and how scorpions spear is all tangled up around him. I think the smoke looks good. Its not that bad. The lifebars are awesome. Those would look good on a more urban mortal kombat like MK3. Awesome job. 4.5/5
Awesome work Zombie, I really like this one.

I love the life bars, the poses used for the characters.

The edit on smoke is awesome.

The smoke doesn't look as good as it could, and the win icon's could be better designed IMO.

They look kind of generic to me.

Also, where are their shadows?

Sorry, while every body else is praising you I will be force to be blunt. The bg is just copy and paste, and when saying this I was surprise. Your custom bgs in the past were more creative and that goes for sprite editing and effects.

You're way off here. It may bother you that one element from a different background was simply placed in here, but it fits--and that's all that matters. Origanality lies in the final product, not how you got there. I am a photographer. In that industry everyone knows, short of stealing work, there is no wrong way to produce your finished product, if the photo looks perfect right out of the camera (rarity--but it does happen!) then you don't need to extensivley edit it.
Same applies to this picture.

The Smoke sprite reminds me of my idea for a Smoke edit, but you exectuted it so much better! Grrr! :(

As for the Copy + paste debate, I think that you're all talking shit. Every fake is copy and paste. Hell, the only person I can remember that made backgrounds that weren't copy and paste (for the majority of them) were Silochin.

I like the background, but the lifebars are a bit confusing.

Let us make a comparison. Look at the HUGE difference between this fake that Zombie made and his previous work. Notice how his custom bg's/edits might be copy and paste but at least it's more creative and did some actual editing:

...
Now the one he just made:

I hate to inform you Mark, but the second one is copy, paste AND editing, as you can tell. The wall and pillars wouldn't take too long.

And the first one again is copy and paste, except the background is a real life shot from a beach.

I know, Kev but what I'm trying to say is his old bgs were more unique than the one he just made. You won't believe how many people have done that already. Using the Dead Pool's windows to look like Jail bars. Nothing great about that.

your intitled to your opinion but I look at it like this: someone first came up with painting, paints on paper or stone, simple concept, but very creative. Copy+Paste!=Unoriginal, nor does it mean it deserves low remarks.

Actually, sometimes Zombie actually thanks me for being honest with him. When I give a reply, I am not trying to give nobody a low self-esteem. Zombie is an awesome fake pic maker. He started out as a rookie and now he has place himself as one of the best in the business. I do not make fake pics no more, but as soon as I get my confidence back and patients grow on me, again I will get cracking on ideas. Look at Zombie's reply, he seem find with my reply, I hope he could keep up the pace he once has. The bg's he made in the past might be copy and paste but definitely not a bad method as he still put effort on them and try to make them Mortal Kombat environment. That is what you should think of when making custom stuff. Stop the bickering already, you turning this thread to a debate over someone's response.
