Chameleon Sprite!? ZOMG How Original!

There you go, 20 minutes of my life wasted on editting a Sub-Zero sprite in MSPaint. Merry-Fucking-Christmas.

Sorry I'm not totally versed in the supposed looks for ol' Chameleon, but heres my attempt at a sprite edit. It may not be as good as G's or Vash's, but I think its pretty cool.

I like the aqua/indigo color, since Chameleon is that color now, but the grey skin, and poor shading look bad.

Maybe is Vash, and/or G use that color, instead of green, and work on their shading, then their sprites would improve.


On another note, damn Midway adding chameleon. As soon as he was confirmed, all his fans started swarming the place with their sprites.
I like Chameleon too, but this is embarassing...

Poor shading? Yeah, I prolly should've worked on the skintones more, but y'know, I was kinda working in a timeframe. Oh well ^.^.

Wait..Are you calling me a Chameleon fan? You know, words can really hurt some times...hurt deep...

Heh, its not really that good. Lack of color depth and messy editing.

Advice:
(1) If you are going to continue using MSPaint, spend more time with the colorizing and depth of the sprite.

(2) Use a better program that allows for more options when you're shading.

(3) When you shade try to create a "flow" of colors. This will create a more pleasing effect than just having blobs of color everywhere.

That's all I got.

1) Been using for graphic design for years, ain't gonna stop now ^.^

2) Umm...no. I really was trying to limit the pallete (10 colors btw) and sprites shaded in, lets say, Photoshop, all look the same, if I wanted crappy, unrealistic gradients and shine effects I would've done used ImageForge or The Gimp.

3) I guess you're referring mainly to the 'armor' right? It was made to look like bumps of material (as opposed to the actual cotton-stitch that he really has...but that looks messy small-scaled) And, again, if I'd wanted an unrealistic, ameteurish gradient I would've done so. But I learned when I first started spriting (oh so many years ago...ah the memories) that gradients are the poor mans way out. ^.^

I don't like bright and shiney outfits. Real Space-Lizard-Ninjas fight with honor and integrity and don't need to show there power through pastel-flared spandex.
