Custom Arcade Cabinet

Within the near future (probably late summer), I will be constructing my own arcade cabinet to house one of my old computers running MAME and MUGEN/MKP.
I just need to figure out what damn resolution is required for these cabinet graphics.
I will be updating this post with pictures as I progress, and I will be recording the process and eventually release a video.
After buying all the power tools and other items needed, it will come to about $600 (not including the cost of printing the graphics).

The image is rather small... see full resolution here: https://www.deviantart.com/blacksaibot/art/Custom-Arcade-Cabinet-Design-827094495

Oh my...damn!

You made one hell of a custom arcade cabinet.

Also it’s me again. I keep forgetting my passwords for these God forsaken accounts.

By the way, You should keep doing what you are good at and what you want to do.

Not sure who "me again" is at this point...

If I figure out this whole graphic thing for the cabinet, I am more than likely going to change it to images of the classic 2D characters especially considering that this cabinet is being made for that era.

HOWEVER, this cabinet will be completely adaptable; as in, I can just plug in a PS2, PS3, or PS4 into the controls and HDMI cable.

Oh nice, I've been wanting to do something like this for the longest time. Though I also want to do something on the other end of the spectrum like get a MAME handheld device to play MK mugen anywhere. I like your choice of panel art. Do you intend on having Saibot's shadow twin on the other side of the cabinet?

No. Companies, from what I've seen thus far, print the side graphics in pairs. So they'd likely charge more if I wanted a different image on either side. But this of course is an assumption on my part.

I've done a bit more research and figured I can do classic 2D sprites and it will still print out nicely here are two designs I've been messing around with:

I am not too happy with how Sub-Zero looks on the top. any suggestions?
Also, who should I put above Kahn? Don't say Sindel, because it is already too reminiscent of the original MK3 arcade.

I think this MKII battle plan prop alone would make for a great side panel:

Kahn on top with Scorpion underneath would mesh better imo than Scorp with the MKII subby sprite on top.

I liked this suggestion and updated the post above yours with a new design. That Kahn sprite is completely custom by the way. I chopped up existing Kahn sprites to make a "higher quality" one for that "destiny tower"

I gotta fix the lighting though since raiden's bolt is on the left side, yet the light is on the right side of kahn and the right side of the mountain.

I am going to save the Sub vs Scorp ideas for the marquee.

Nicely done. The foreground Raiden is awesome and the panel seems to immerse you into the game world now. Shao Kahn looks good but a little blurry which happens anytime something is resized and that small, especially if there are different components on the image/sprite. Running him through a sharpening filter might do the trick. Actually, could just be my phone which really zooms in.

Wow, I really like how MKO's quoting system is fucking broken...

Anyway. Yeah, Kahn is a bit blurry. I don't remember which resize method I used.

Shit's starting to get real!
