Yeah I know there are a lot of online gamers out there, but is there anyone that knows of MKP 4.1?
If you don't happen to know what it is, it is a downloadable Mortal Kombat game better known as Mortal Kombat Project. You can go to certain websites, download the game, save it to a folder, and begin playing. But the one specific game I want to talk about is MKP 4.1. It is a more in depth game from MKT that uses a lot of the same characters from MK to UMK3 with bonus characters that you can make on your own. You also have the sub bosses and bosses at your control.
You also can select from a wide variety of modes to fight in. For instance Team mode. You can choose 2 fighters of your liking and take them to battle up against the computers fighters. You also have Endurance mode, 2P mode games of all sorts, and VS mode. And of course the standard 1P mode.
You can also to elect how you want to fight. Say you want to keep it to a one-on-one fight but you have 4 characters (it's possible). You can select 3 different fights to challenge your skills such as Single Player, Simultaneous (which is used mostly in 2P mode and Teams mode), and Turns mode (this can also be used in the ones above and Endurance Mode). The possibilities are endless!!!
Now for those that have the game, I want your opinion on how you think the gameplay is for MKP. Do you think it is a game that could be or should be made for console format? Does it need refining? Is the game a success of failure? Leave your comments on the game. If you want to get a copy, well just look up "how to download MKP 4.1" on Youtube.

If that is the case, then I guess I should just let it go.

But I could be wrong.

I think that it is ROMs we can't discuss, due to their legality, but I'm pretty sure MKP is made with MUGEN or some other editable fighting engine

I've seen lengthy topics about MK on MUGEN before because it's not really illegal stealing or copying of any existing game, it's building unique games out of sprite edits.

The only reason why I like it is because I love it's rendition of the classical MK Trilogy (Although it is just not the same as the MKT itself). But when I am on the road and I have my laptop with me, I like to sit in restaurants and fight for a little while with either some of my family, or friends that want to play. I don't have enough money to actually get either MKT or UMK3 for PSP, or even get a PSP. I also play with my friends during the spare time we have out of class at college.
I am pretty sure though, I will get one soon seeing as how there are not many good games for the PS2 (besides the MK games).
The only reason why it will never be as good as MKT, is because several people (besides the actual makers like Ed Boon and John Tobias) went into making this game. That makes it a copy that has the feel of a classic rendition. Yet it is a good game, it just isn't the same. But you have to admit, they have some bright minds to make characters that either don't exist or probably exist but we have yet to hear about (A.K.A. Nightspirits, an MK1 version of Ermac, Blaze edited to MK3 format (similar to Goro).

I messed with MKP4.1 before but ultimately got fed up with it because I had no one to play with and the AI was just retarded.
My favorite thing about MKP is that you can edit the files and therefore change the commands for special moves and fatalities. For example, I remember changing Liu's bicycle kick special from holding LK for 3 seconds into b, f + LK.
Also, you could change move properties- grab, low hitting, high hitting, pop-up, stun move etc. I remember changing plenty of stuff in this department- like shortening the time Sub's Ice Clone stays on screen.
You could also change the amount of health each character has, I remember giving Sheeva more health than other regular characters.
All in all, I loved the editing (that's why Carmageddon for PC is my fave game ever, massive data editing possible, replay value enormous) but I never really had the will to start editing AI's behavior and therefore finally gave up on it.

Sorry. Couldn't resist.
I don't know of MKP, but I'm not against MUGEN or anything like that.
