Tanya is such a tragic character, that has basically screwed herself over more than anyone else and I think you captured the lonliness she must expericence perfectly.

I wouldn't rule it out. Jade's cropped up time and time again in my drawings. It's been a while since I've given her a go. It would be nice to catch up.

Then out of curiousity, should you make Jade, what version would you make her in then? What outfit and such?

i agree with many comments. she seem so lonesome in this, and i'd imagine that she feel regret for betraying her home.

I almost always opt for her Deception primary. I loved that look and I prefer to distance Jade as much as possible from her MK2/UMK3 palette swap days.

I really wish they would have given Tanya a bit more dimension in Deception, like what are her assets in the congflict, does she have contacts, followers, what? Its like they took her MK4 ending and just ran w it. So i love that u give her a little depth.

@Kamionero; Yeah, I've always been interested in Tanya and I think there's a lot of potential there - the rivalry with Jade seemed really forced but I'm interested in her relationship with her father, why she chose to betray Sindel, her relationship with Quan Chi and Shinnok, etc. I think they could stand to give her a lot of personality, there's a lot to work with. I'm glad you liked it.

Without hyperbole, I say this is one of the best submissions I have ever seen. Absolutely fantastic piece of art, it just oozes emotion and you have managed to accomplish in your drawing something that is so very difficult which is to get an unliked character felt sorry for. It doesn't just stop at the character either but the background compliments the character and situation perfectly. I really didn't know you had this kind of talent for art (Knew you were talented but not this talented) it is so very different from the many pieces of art we see here as well, and it excels because of it. Fantastic sir you have earned my kudos.

There's such beauty and sadness in this picture. I actually feel for Tanya (something I never found possible considering she's such a cowardly bitch).

Absolutely stunning quality here, Keith. I wouldn't think that any picture of this traitor/coward could make me feel any kind of sympathy for the character. I stand corrected. Makes you think.. "Hey wait... does she maybe regret all that she's done? O_o "

This really makes me want to see her appear in this game as DLC (or the following game within the new timeline)... just to see if she chooses the same road, or if she decides to grow a spine and fight for her realm.

And then I remember... as horrible as she is... it actually works for this character. She plays her role in the series well. Tanya trusts no one and can be trusted by no one. Personally I think the fact that most seem to hate her so much, simply means that she's doing her job right. She's a despicable individual and is rightfully despised because of it.

So in the end, I don't think I'd want to see her change sides.. I'm just curious as to whether she'd go down a different path with the whole time travel fiasco.

She's the bitch that people love to hate.

I love this post. Well, I love any post that takes a closer look at Tanya because I think she has so much undeveloped potential but you really nailed it. Tanya's generally a despised character in the series - and rightly so, so she definitely serves her purpose. I really hope she returns, there's still a lot of fight left in Tanya. Thanks very much!
