...
Aside from the pointless bickering, I dont feel like redoing this. I dont think it is necessary either. Perhaps in the near future when I get my Photoshop back, but not now. Meh, but I will post the backgrounds I made. Feel free to burrow any, just give me credit.

I added rain to make the fight scene more interesting, I guess I failed.

The rain looks good depending on what you are planning to do with it, the thing is that the background and the sprites are dark, if you had taken out the rain effect, the sprites would have looked a lot clearer.

Heh, I know. I'll take that as consideration when I redo it. But I just wanted to get this fake pic off my chest, before Blacksaibot decided to leave the community. I was caught up with finals, and never had a chance to finish it. Finally I did, but I was force to rush it a bit, due to Photoshop 30 day Trial version and I was busy editing my sig.

Interesting fake. I love rain; I think adding rain to anything makes it more accentuates the mood. A light drizzle would signify a peace or a calm before the storm, so to speak. A downpour, like you used, signifies an intense situation.
The rain looks good, however it seems like there's a few flaws. For instance, it looks like the rain is only falling behind the characters, yet it also seems to be falling offscreen, implying that it is the in the very foreground of the piece as well. My advice would be to construct two layers of rain; one for the background, that you can see hitting the ground, and another, thinner layer (so it doesn't block the view of the characters) in the foreground. That way it will look as though the rain is enveloping the entire area.
Another suggestion as far as the rain goes; since there is a forest behind them, it might be interesting to show that the trees obstruct the rain from falling normally back there; for example you could try adding some water trickling or leaking down from the tree tops, like it would in a real storm (think those big fat drops that really soak you if you stand under a tree during or after a storm). It might be harder to edit the background and make it look convincing, but hey, food for thought.
I don't know if I get the floor of the arena; it's a dirt floor with a gray dragon logo on it? Is the dragon logo supposed to be gravel, like one of those rock gardens? If that's the case I'm just not sure if it's the best concept, only because realistically the rocks would get displaced and/or covered in mud if it was laid out over plain old dirt. Maybe the dragon could be made of one color of rocks while the rest of the ground could be made out of another color (i.e black and white).
The guy on the left (I'm assuming Blacksaibot) looks tight, and I like the scythe. My only suggestion is to make it a little more apparent where his dragon medallion thing is; in his hand, or pinned onto his vest?
The other guy (I'm assuming is Illusion) is good, but I don't like the pose. I can't tell if he's crouching, coming back from a jump, or just has a weird hunchback thing going on.
And just one more suggestion. It looks like they've done a lot of damage to each other, especially for still having 90 seconds still on the clock. Maybe it would make more sense if the clock had less time. But hey, that's just a small detail, but it would add a little to it.
I know that seems like a lot... those suggestions I do think will make it better, but that being said, I think it's decent as it is now. I'm gonna be nice and give it a four out of five.
Edit: WOOPS! I did not look at the date on this. I guess everything I wrote is now irrelevent. Well, if 2004 Illusion goes on a vacation to 2014, there you go. You're welcome.

I was like who the fuck bumped this crap back 10 years later? Then I realized it was BlackSaibot so all is forgiven
lmfao.
But yeah man time does fly. I was aiming for a epic showdown a la Minus_Zero vs. VenoMark but my teh skillz weren't developed yet back then and I got into animations later. Perhaps I can muster something now, time permitting of course. I never did get even for this either:
Hmmm...
.
Shout out to the old farts who are gone: TimsMK, MaxDam, Gororules. Cervantes aka...wait for it...Minus_Zero
.
And despite being a crappy fake that for some reason to this day can't even tell how dark it is because I have my screen contrast always high, it should belong in the Portal.
