This is my second revision of this story! I added some more content for the Crimson Demons backstory and fixed the dialogue issue. I tried to make this a little more interesting by attempting to add some personality to the characters. Also the tell me what you think about the appendix at the end. Was it nessasary to add or should it be removed? If there are any more issues or things that could be fixed, post a reply and I will see what I can do.

Fun with Portals V2Âa

It was an ordinary day in the Neatherrealm and Scorpion was was just walking around when he heard some odd noises along with the voice of the Crimson Demon talking to what sounded like a female. Apparently her name was Chell according to the conversation. He went to go check it out and started to eavesdrop on the two.Âa

"So yeah everything is going well Chell and I think I have finally gotten over the horrific experiments I was forced to undergo as a young human samurai. So what's been going on at the ol' enrichment center?"

"Well since GLaDOS has decided to behave herself because of the new kill switch you installed, things have pretty much returned to normal. All the scientists are back in control of the tests now just like the good old days with GLaDOS merely being an assistant to them."

"And how is Rat-Man doing?"

"He is still a nut job. But he finally refilled his perscriptions, but his companion cube won't let him take them."

"OMG! He still thinks that inanimate cube is speaking to him!?!"

"Yes but he seems to get brilliant ideas from that cube that really helps lots of people with their problems, so I guess this more of a benifit rather than a handicap. GLaDOS wanted me to thank you for participating in this Aperture Science computer aided enrichment activity and hope you enjoy using the portal device."

"Thank you Chell, I really appreciate her saying that to me. However I will still drop by to visit everyone every now and then."

"No problem Crimson Demon, GLaDOS says you are always welcome at the enrichment center. Also don't forget the Aperture Science bring your kids to work day is the perfect time to have them tested. Anyway I have to go, the enrichment center has a new test subject and it is my turn to supervise the testing process. So bye bye." Chell said as she left the area.

"I should bring Smoke along to be tested too sometime in the future." the Crimson Demon thought.

"Did you get all that Scorpion?" the demon said to Scorpion's shock as he fell off the roof he was on top of with a *CRASH!!!*.

Alt paragraph sequence: ...to Scorpion's shock as a orange hole suddenly appeared under his feet. He immediately fell into it andÂaout of a blue one near the top of a building near the Crimson Demon. Screaming as he fell, he landed on the demons blades, impaling his torso, writhing in agony. Soon he slid down the blades and the Crimson Demon tore him in half.

"You didn't think that I was unaware of you spying on me did you? I am the all seeing eye and plus you are so predictable too. Enjoy the FATALITY n00b!" said the Crimson Demon as he walked away!

"PW3ND!" said Shao Kahn.

The next day after fixing himself up from bring killed he started to search for an explanation for the weird orange and blue holes he fell through yesterday. Scorpion searched far and wide for the source of those portals but couldn't find a thing. Just as he was about to give up he heard the sounds the holes made when they appear coming from the city. He immediately rushed back to the city to find the source of the sounds.

When he got there he saw the Crimson Demon was playing around with a white gun like device making the same orange and blue holes in the ground and walls. Sometimes he would use these holes to teleport a cube shaped object with pink hearts on it around the city.

Scorpion was curious about it but also still angry at him for killing him the other day. He could tell the that the tarkatan samurai was enjoying himself. He knew that the Crimson Demon has a huge fascination with technology ever since his ordeal with the space pirates. Assuming that this was another one of the demon's inventions he went to investigate.

So he slowly approached him as quietly as possible, assuming that the Crimson Demon was too distracted to notice. But seconds later he was on the ground with the demon's blades pressed against his throat threatening to cut his head off like a pair of shears.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW!?!" the demon roared tightening the pressure of his blades further.

"I just wanted to know what that thing you were using was." the spectre said as he was gasping for air and blood ran down his neck.

"Oh this?" The Crimson Demon said as he cautiously loosened his grip on the spectre.Âa

This is an Aperture Science Hand Held Portal Device. A portal gun if you will. The demon replied.

"Oh so that was the Portal Device that you and that lady Chell were talking about the other day." said Scorpion.Âa

*CRASH!?!* the pink heart cube landed just inches from the ninja spectre causing him to jump in shock.Âa

"The enrichment center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and in fact, cannot speak. If in fact the cube does speak, the enrichment center advises you do disregard it's advice." the demon quoted in a computer voice.

Correct, and with it I can make portals and mess around with stuff. Watch this!" The demon said as he fired an Orange portal on the ceiling directly above a city guard.

Then he fired a blue one under the guard's feet causing him to fall infinitely through the bottom one, out the top one and down through the bottom one again.Âa

1 minute of falling the demon shot the Orange portal onto the wall causing the screaming guard to go flying out and go "SPLAT!" against the opposite wall splattering his body parts and blood everywhere."FATALITY!" The crimson demon, following his tarkatan instincts, ate the splattered gore to Scorpion's disgust.Âa

Next he went outside and fired a orange portal on the floor next to a standing guard near the city walls. Then the other one under its feet. He flew up and fell down in one and out the other each time getting higher.

After he gained enough velocity to practically touch the sky, the demon moved the portal out from under him making him go "SPLAT!" on the floor."FATALITY" The tarkatan samurai ate those body parts too.Âa

Scorpion being himself figured that he could use it to create new ways to brutalize and kill his enemies.Âa

Scorpion said "Wow that is sweet! How can I get one?" He asked.Âa

The demon told him he has to qualify with it before he can have one.

"What do you mean by qualify?" Scorpion inquired.

"There is a training course that you have to complete in order to prove that you are competent when using it and it also teaches you how the device works in action. It is not that hard, in fact it is pretty fun to do. I certainly had a whole lot of fun doing this test."Âa

So they both drove to the Aperture Science Enrichment Center and the demon helped Scorpion fill out the testing application forms and finally the consent and waiver release form stating:

I (subject name here) of (subject hometown here), hereby consent to participating in trials and tests involving the use of the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, during which I waive the right to any claim against Aperture Laboratories.

I understand that my test duties will include completing tests without dying, following orders, which may include the enhanced truth, and accepting cake at the end of the trial period.Âa

I understand that by signing this form I automatically accept the contract to test at Aperture Laboratories.Âa

Scorpion signed his signature on the document and then he preceded to the relaxation vault to wait his turn.Âa

The vault rose up to test chamber #00. The head scientist Mike greeted him saying "Hello Scorpion, and welcome to the Aperture Science Computer Aided Enrichment Center. We hope your brief detention the relaxation vault has been a pleasant one. Your specimen has been processed and we are now ready to begin the test proper. My name is Mike and this is my associate Bob. We will be supervising your progress as you work your way through each test chamber..." EndÂa

Epilogue: Once Scorpion was finished with the testing and now had a portal gun too, he modified the device so it was concealed in his hand and functioned a little differently then normal. When it came time to fight in a tournament he used it in one of his fatalities. He called it the Nether-Gate.Âa

Chell, Rat-Man, and his companion cube were all watching in the stands. Shao Kahn was wondering why all these talking spheres were with me at the foot of his throne. He said that Wheatley one officially sucks along with the GLaDOS one too.Âa

Appendix:

Chell: Chell is the main character in the Portal game series. She was forced by GLaDOS a self conscious AI super computer, to solve deadly puzzles with the promise of cake at the end of them. Instead the computer tried to kill her at the end. However Chell escaped and destroyed GLaDOS only to be recaptured by the computers robots outside the enrichment center. Hundreds of years later when she awoke from cryogenic stasis, she again tried to escape with Wheatley's help, from the now overgrown and ruined facility accidentally reactivating GLaDOS in the process.

Wheatley: Wheatley was a personality core designed for GLaDOS to lower her intelligence. As a result Wheatley was a crafted idiot. After he tricked Chell into uploading his core into GLaDOS, he whet mad with power and transferred GLaDOS to a potato battery. He then started to set death traps in the facility for her. But because he was an idiot, none of them worked. He was eventually defeated by Chell and was sent to the moon.

GLaDOS: GLaDOS or Genetic Life-form and Disk Operating System was designed to assist in the management of the enrichment centers operations. Her body is composed of multiple colored talking spheres called personality cores. Each one has a different part of her personality. They included anger, memory, curiosity, space, facts, adventure, Wheatley, and her main core. After she was activated GLaDOS went homicidal, sealed the facility and killed everyone inside. They managed to install a morality core in to her body to stop her from flooding the facility with deadly neurotoxins. When she was reactivated, she began to rebuild the facility around Chell keeping her trapped so she could run more tests on her. After the Wheatley incident she decided to let Chell go as it was too hard to kill her.

Rat man: No one knows rat man's real name. We do know that he was the first test subject for the portal device and that he went insane with schizophrenia. He was also the only survivor of all the scientists killed by GLaDOS. He was the one who helped Chell survive the tests by writing messages on the walls, and saved her life when the cryogenic chambers went offline. He later provided further clues to help her get out of the facility again the form of writing on the walls. Is is assumed that he is still around wandering the enrichment center looking for a way out. He did escape at first but when discovered that Chell was being brought back to the facility, he went back inside to rescue her.
