This is awesome. I love the fireball & the reflect of jade.

I don't really understand why Shao Kahn is blacked out. If it's just shadow, why are his eyes so big and so far apart? I don't like how Shao Kahn's throne is completely black, or used in all dark colors. It doesn't give a sense of depth. The fireball could use a little less "tail" (the embers that follow the actual ball).

And no shadows? 2.5/5. Jade's special effects look good though.

Jade is neither of those. Well, it makes her invincible for a short time.

Specials went right through Jade in MKII automatically. In UMK3/Trilogy, Deception, and Armageddon, she was given "Dodging Shadows" as a move that has to be activated, to make it fair, and nostagic. Though it wasn't called "Dodging Shadows" untill Deception.

Kahn's shadowed throne is from one of the intro pics. It's not supposed to add depth, it's supposed to look cool.

DPs and Skulls were awarded where they needed to be (namely for those who knew what being invincible and invisible was and not being dicks about it).
As for the fake, I have to say that I hate that you cut off Kintaro. That was useless, as it makes it look like the whole focus should be on Jade using her attack to dodge the fireball, but the thing is that there is enough going on that she shouldn't be the focus; between her blocking the black Shao Kahn without a neck (considering where his eyes and his arms are in the silhouette, it looks like whatever it is is really a short creature without a neck and a giant head), the fireballs and her special ability, and Kintaro getting pissed, I felt that you could've moved all the actions more to the left to get a chance for everyone to see everything in the picture and not have it so cluttered and not focused.
The all-black Shao Kahn throne thing would've been neat, but I can't help but think that what will be revealed is a midget version of Kahn with a big head. I like how you made the entire arena dark too, that's pretty cool, I'll give you that, but I felt that the sky should've been cloudier, as the lighting seems to be coming out of nowhere, and maybe with a moon somewhere in there to make it more of a night-theme.

this is kinda boring... nothing exciting happening... jade just walking through the fireball.

the fireball itself looks cool, but the trail of fire looks kinda lame. i like the glow effect on kintaro, but its pointless to have it if the fireball is THAT far away from his face already... and i doubt the fire trail is that bright considering the ugly dots/pixels are so small

the thunder looks cool, but it does not make sense with the clouds and how the sky looks at all.

i like the fade thing u did with the sprites that are used as jades protejectile invinciblity move. if u look close enuf u can tell she was ducking, i think.

shao kahn's eyes look too big and too far apart. it looks terrible how his thrown is completely darker than anything else in the background. it makes no sense how that ONE SPOT is so dark compared to the rest... as if he had a tent over him something. good idea though.

the flames on the skulls were a nice tough... but as i mentioned above, the flames should have lit up shao kahn's area a lot more than what theyre doing.



u know how to use photoshop (or whatever program) effects well.. but ur not good at fitting it all together to make a fake that makes complete sense. i know im not perfect, but damn. pay attention to lighting.

The fake is meh meh... I can see what's going on and there's some pretty effects (read as: eye candy) but the fake overall is boring. That and the shadowed figure looks... for lack of a better word.. retarded. The whole eye glow kills it for me.

Yea the throne doesn't portray accurate lighting. However dark magic is at work in this fake. The source of it being contained mostly within the bounds of the 4 torches. Something wicked this way comes.
