It is known to many warriors who fight alongside Liu Kang and Kung Lao, that Kung Lao's ancestor, was killed by the mighty Shokan prince, Goro. Though it was against The White Lotus Society, Kung Lao had an ensuing hatred, and thirst for revenge. It lingered in him for years, and it even concerned Raiden, who above, saw Kung Lao's feelings. He knew that Kung Lao was an admirable person at heart, and eventually his emotions were known to The White Lotus Society, when trusted friends who knew Kung Lao, confessed this to the higher ranks. Kung Lao was nearly banished from the temples, until he claimed that he would only feel in the way that his ancestors would respect.
He did not really replace his emotions, though. However, with influence of Raiden's words, and realizing that how he feels is wrong, he decided that all he needed to do, is give an honorable mark of revenge, to the Shokan prince who killed his ancestor. Kung Lao gave Goro the mark, when he saw Goro, in the fourth Mortal Kombat tournament. Goro finally realized too, that what he did to Kung Lao's ancestor was wrong, for he was blindly serving Shang Tsung, when he was seeing false illusions of power. He was evil no more, and fought for the side of life, honor, and prosperity. Goro felt that getting the mark of revenge was not enough to make up for what had happened in the past. He had to do something else for him, for he now had a great friendship with Kung Lao.
When Goro served for Shang Tsung, Tsung entitled Goro as an extremely trustworthy warrior, so he let Goro have knowledge of all his secret magic techniques. Tsung, using magic from the fallen Elder God Shinnok's amulet, which he once stole, created a spell so that, when a warrior or sorcerer spoke the incantation, a temporary portal to the Heavens could be made. This was the one that Goro had remembered, when he was thinking of how to even it out completely, with Kung Lao. He sought to return to Shang Tsung's now deserted palace, in order to go to the secret area where Tsung kept all the sacred documents, of how to summon all of his magic. Using the very same technique Kung Lao tought him, Goro teleported to the palace.
After countless hours of searching, Goro never gave up hope, and finally found the sacred document, containing the spell to summon the portal to The Heavens. He took it, and teleported back to the Earthrealm. He found Kung Lao, at the temples of The Wu-Shi Academy. He told Kung Lao, that he could use the portal to go to The Heavens, and be with his great ancestor. He could also use the portal to get back to the Earthrealm. He asked Raiden if it would not be an act against the Elder Gods, if Kung Lao could access The Heavens. Raiden deemed that Kung Lao was obviously a trustworthy person, and gave permission for him to access the portal. When Kung Lao opened the portal, he gived thanks immensely to the Shokan prince. He admired how excellent of a person Goro was at heart.
Kung Lao visited his ancestor in The Heavens. He felt very happy in his heart, that he could now see his ancestor. The Great Kung Lao was also extremely happy to be with his descendant. Kung Lao personally gave words of honor to his ancestor, and persuaded him that Goro was now an honest, trusted warrior. Already seeing the events from The Heavens, anyway, The Great Kung Lao agreed. Though they were so happy to see each other and be in relaxation, Kung Lao also had plans of his own, in which he would need his great ancestor...
Kung Lao has now been revived, in order to fight for the side of good, in the final determination of all battles: It was now Armageddon. Kung Lao saw that, in order to fight at his best, even though he was an extremely skilled warrior, he would need training from his ancestor, The Great Kung Lao. Not wasting any time at all, he gave his request to his ancestor, that he train him, in order to become equal in skill and power. His ancestor agreed to this, for he wanted his descendant only to fight at his best. Kung Lao immediately started his training.
Through a lot of self-discipline, practice, sparring with his ancestor, and effort, Kung Lao finally achieved his goal: to become as excellent a warrior as his ancestor. His superatural, and regular physical power, increased dramatically. He felt he had spent enough time training, and decided that it was time to go back to Earthrealm. He gave honor, and great thanks, to his ancestor. He wished The Great Kung Lao eternal glory, and his ancestor gave his word that he would, if the side of good wins in the final tournament. Kung Lao gave his promise, that, he would not fail. Then, he used the portal to get back to the Earthrealm.
Kung Lao met his friends in Earthrealm, including his fellow monk and warrior Liu Kang, who had been resurrected, but this time, in his true, good, form. Raiden had told the others of Kung Lao's whereabouts, when he was gone. They all proclaimed their vows, that, they would never give up. It was now time, for it to come. It was now time to determine the fate of the realms. It was now time, to fight between good and evil. For every warrior, it was now time... for Armageddon. Kung Lao, and his fellow warriors from not only Earthrealm, but other realms, were now ready.

By the way, this is my first fan submission. I didn't know how to make the little icon next to it that defines it as a fan fiction story. Can someone help me? Thanks, I appreciate it. I hope you liked my fan fiction story.

Good, good. I approve.

Not bad. The only tip I can give you is to make the storyline a little less cheesy. Or don't put in things that we know will never happen. Like Kung Lao walking up to Goro and *bam* he's a good guy. Or Goro learning how to teleport. But since it is a Fan Fiction, I guess it was pretty good. 4/5
