Just...wow I really am taken back by the quality, as well as the designs.
Scorpion looks awesome. The 2nd outfit looks like the one you've used before in an earlier picture. I really like the topless touch, it just seems to convey a much more vicious side to Scorpion from the flaming skull his body build. HIs first outfit looks great as well, nothing too groundbreaking, but it reminds me of his MKSM look, probably because of the quilted pattern he's go going. Still a very cool outfit.
Quan Chi.....What can i say about him? I'm not reall a fan of his, but I reall like this concept, the cape just seems to add more to him, giving him a wanderer look which I really like. I also like the extra tattoos on his face aside from the runes running down his forehead. He looks changed, more sinister then before. Myonly question is about the hood. The rim seems a little to short, shouldn't it be a little further down his face?
Tanya...First let me say that I absolutely HATE this character, I'd rather see Jarek back then go through another game with her. The look itself is nice though, but it makes her look more egyptian with that hairstyle. As one positive though, you got rid of that stupid mask she was wearing and gave her a streak across the face, which, in my opinion is much better.
Mavado. There's something about this look that screams more Shang Tsung than Mavado, like Broduer said. But I really dig the long hair and the small soul patch w/mustahce. Just makes him look more mature, more proffesional, and definetly more fitting of the name 'Mavado". I'd like to see a full body shot just to see the rest of his design.
Reiko looks like he belongs in a DC comic. Nothing's really changed aside from the hair a bit. So there's nothing really to comment on here.
Now Jade, this has to be one of my favorite concepts. her face is gorgeous, a really like the braid going down her left side. Yeah, again like Broduer said, she's got a really "playfull" looking appearance to her. I like the expersion in her eye, very seductive, and I like the headband, I think that's a great touch.
Fugin, nothing much to really go on in this picture, a bit lacking like the Reiko one. The whole long hair, especially since it's a snow white, like Raiden's just doesn't leave too much personality. This easily could've been mistaken for a Raiden concept. A bit more refinement would be appreciated.
I LOVE the Kitana concepts you've come up with. I love the first one because she's wearing pants for one thing. This design seems to remind me of her movie look, very battle appropriate. I like the bands on her arms, and the corescet (SP?) looks very nice on her. Also, I really like her long hair. Her second outfit is a bit more manga inspired. It looks like the a geisha outfit, or a set of royal pajamas that. Kind makes me think this is what Lui kang might see if he wasn't such a fag. It's a very cool outfit, might be a little skimpy for some people, but it also holds that air of mystiscism around it, the designs on her sleaves and sash really adding to the feeling. The third outfit is my least favorite of the Kitana concepts, but it's by no means a bad one. It just looks too much like a cross between her MKSM, and MKG looks. But I really like the mask, and the whole compastion of the outfit. This, along with her first one make her look like a true warrior/assassin.
Kai has really matured in your sketch, obviously taken from your earlier work with the Jade and Noob concepts as well. More so then Mavado, I think the facial hair really fits him, especially with the bandana. He looks like he has gone through some kind of transformation, he's much harder, much stronger in appearance, that's something I really like about this sketch.
Sindel, Sindel, Sindel. What's there to say really? it's a nice shot, but it's nothing terribely new, aside from the new eye shadow. I don't know, maybe other fans can pick out something else, I'm just not a fan of the character. It's still a beatufill sketch though, no doubt about it.
Sub-Zero, one of my top favorites, probably third after Sektor and Smoke. I like the younger look you've given him, true like Brodeur said, it kind of gives him a Ryu quality, but that's fine, he seemed more like an anime character anyway. Nothing too darastic, but it's fine the way it is. I just had to do a double take on his medallion since it looked more like a wolf then a dragon at first glance.
I definetly like the Sonya look, more with the S.W.A.T. cap then without. She looks very suited for her role as head of the OIA. That turtle neck makes her look she's stationed in Anatarctica for some reason though.
I like the Jax concept. It's simple, but there's not alot you can do with him. I like the belt going around his chest, as well as the bandanna. I can picture this being a cool outfit with some comau. styled pants, a thigh mounted gun holster and some army boots. If he does have bionics in this picture, they aren't very bulky which is what I like. If he doesn't (which I preffer) then it's all the better. The look might not be the most original, but it sure as hell works much better then the stuff the MK Team has been putting Briggs through.
Frost, my second favorite femal fighter. I like the look, I think it fits her perfectly, kind of giving her a cocky, icey undertone which is what her personality should be. The icicles on her shoulders would sudgest that she's become quite advanced at her cryokenetic skills. I like the longer hair too. (Seems to be a common theme in your female drawings). But her outfit pretty much gives you an idea for a story, which is something that an outfit should do. Very well done.
I really like these designs, some more then others, but all of them are great concepts. I love the shading for the characters, as well as the muscle tone. Fantastic work over all, worth nothing less then a 5/5. And I will be picking up the Abiding Predition soon. We on the boards knew you'd always make great use of your talents, cheers bro.
