So I been drawing MK characters in Anime style because you rarely see MK Anime drawings. I'm drawing primaries and alternates for almost all the characters. I drew them by hand and then I scanned the sketch and made the Line Art and colored it in Photoshop CS5. I have both line arts and the colored versions and since she is the sexiest MK female ever, first up, Jade! Both costumes were inspired by her MK 2011 primary and alternate. I know it's long because I wanted to add much more personality to her. The first paragraph is based on her history before MK2. The second paragraph is based on her MK1-MK3 story. Story
Born to the most powerful aristocrat of all of Edenia, Jade was born to one of the most powerful Edenian families throughout all of Edenia. When she was an infant, Edenia was being invaded by Outworld and she was kidnapped by the Emperor of Outworld, army. After the invasion, Jade was adopted by the Emperor of Outworld, Shao Kahn and he raised her as his own daughter. Though he raised her to use her for his own personal selfish reasons, he had his most skilled of all warriors, trained her to become one of the most skilled assassins in Outworld. Though Edenians have a slightly longer life expectancy than humans (Living a lifetime of 500 years for a normal healthy Edenian), she was subjected to Outworld's magic from one of Outworld's greatest sorcerer to help her live longer than 10,00 years. As a child, she met another one of Shao Kahn's adopted children. Her name was Kitana. At first the two had a rivalry that was so serious, it almost costed their lives but later on they soon became childhood friends.
As the years passed by, they were trained together to become skilled assassins. As Kitana was crowned Princess of Outworld, Jade was awarded the title, Bodyguard of the Princess of Outworld. During the first ten Mortal Kombat tournaments, both Jade and Kitana, stood alongside Shang Tsung watching the tournaments to report the results to Shao Kahn. During the tenth Mortal Kombat tournament, they reported to Shao Kahn, the first defeat of Outworld to Earthrealm and Shao Kahn, angered by the failure of Shang Tsung, was about to kill him until Shang Tsung came up with bargain for his own life. During the eleventh Mortal Kombat tournament (Around Mortal Kombat 2), both Kitana and Jade was sent to find the the Earthrealm warriors to assassinate them to declare forfeit from them in them. During the battle, Kitana was confronted by a mysterious figure, who teleported with the speed of lightning, who told her to look for a secret in Shang Tsung's sorcery lab. The assassination was a failure and lead to them reporting back to Shao Kahn with the bad news of the failed assassination. Kitana then attempted to found out the secret what was told to her and she found a vile creature made from Shang Tsung's sorcery, that seemed to resemble her. Kitana then confronted Shao Kahn and was betrayed by him and he ordered her to be sent to the Deadpool to be sacrificed for her heart for this creature to eat to turn into Kitana because that was part of the sorcery since Kitana's heart was the only it can manifest itself to become beautiful. Later that day, Jade was sent by Shao Kahn, to guard the a portal to the Deadpool in Earthrealm from Goro's Lair that leads to the Living Forest that leads to the Deadpool. At this time, Earthrealm defeated Outworld once again and Outworld wasn't allowed to merge with Earthrealm. At this time, Jade was then confronted by a ninja of extreme stealth. She battled him but commented him by stating "Too bad you are from Earthrealm because you are surely one sexy skilled stealth fighter that would had been a great addition to the Emperor's Army." Then, they fell into the portal and landed in the Living Forest and Jade continued to battle him until she was defeated and then she told him to fnish her but he spared her life and he went his way to the Deadpool. Kitana ran away with the help of the Earthrealm warriors and aligned herself with Earthrealm because of Shao Kahn's betrayal and Jade was ordered by Shao Kahn to bring her back to Outworld. During the time Outworld tried to merged with Earthrealm, and Jade once again had went toe to toe with the ninja of extreme stealth once again and once again she was defeated and she asked him what is his name and why he spared her. He told her that his name is Smoke the ninja of stealth of a deadly clan of ninjas called the Lin Kuei and he told her he spared her because he can see that she is a beautiful person and she had something special in stored for her in the future and then she took off her veil and thanked him for the comment and for sparing her and kissed him. Afterwards, the same being that told Kitana the secret, told Jade the truth of what really happened to Edenia and that Shao Kahn is a liar and he was using her for his own personal uses. She then aligned herself to help Earthrealm free itself from Outworld and afterwards, saw Smoke being captured by a group of cyborgs and she tried battle them but they defeated her and Smoke was taken away forever, never for Jade to see him again and she cried and afterwards, Shao Kahn was defeated once again and this time Edenia was also freed as well.
Two years after the victory of Earthrealm from the invasion of Outworld, Edenia was in peace and Jade was titled General of The Edenian Army, until a short, innocent looking petite woman appeared to the Queen of Edenia, Sindel, with a mysterious tall figure dressed up as a hooded monk, seeking a favor from her. The mysterious figure was the evil sorcerer, Quan Chi and was attempting to merge Netherrealm with all the realms for the name of Shinnok but this did not last long and was finished shortly with the help of Earthrealm, it's new protector and Jade found out that, the woman who came to Sindel with Quan Chi, was Tanya, the traitor of Edenia and learned that Tanya was exiled to Outworld and Edenia was at peace once again. Six Months later, Edenia was under attack by a new group named the Deadly Alliance and this fight led to the death of many Earthrealm and Edenian warriors including her best friend Kitana, finally dying at the hands of the vile creature Kitana told her about before, doing what she needed to become like Kitana. Her name is Mileena and as she was gonna take a bite of Kitana's heart, Jade, angered by the death of her best friend, caused Mileena to drop her heart so hard it disintegrated, since the heart of an Edenian is more delicate than a human's and battled Mileena. During the battle, Mileena suffered a terrible blow to her left eye from Jade's Bo Staff, causing temporary blindness in her eye and she ran away to recover. At this time Jade ran to her dead friend's dead body and vowed to seek revenge for her death and soon after Jade ran to hide to watch as a huge monster take the bodies of the dead warriors and use them as a part of his army. As she secretly followed his dead army, she learned that the terrible monster was Onaga, the Dragon King, the original Emperor of Outworld and she saw they had taken over Edenia and she was confronted by the walking lifeless dead body of her best friend, Kitana. She fought Kitana and trapped her in a cell and since Edenia was under the control of Onaga, she and Sindel fled to Outworld and before they went through the portal, Jade glimpsed the traitor of Edenia, Tanya telling Onaga he would give him Edenia, if he gaved her power over the realms after conquered them. This led Jade wanting to seek vengence on Tanya for her betrayal to Edenia once again and she hid in Outworld trying to seek also Mileena to avenge the death of Kitana as well. At this time, she met an elderly man on a mission seeking the truths of the realms. She sent him to trap, one of the biggest traitors in Edenian history, named an assassin named Rain, so she could ambush him for his betrayal of Edenia. As she ambushed him, she vowed she was gonna kill him but he vowed for her to spare him in exchange for the truth behind Onaga and how killing him will restore the lives of those killed by the Deadly Alliance. She learned that killing Onaga would give the Elder Gods the power to bring those that died since the eleventh tournament, be brought back to life, since the Elder Gods see that Blaze is developing some form of power that can destroy the realms and even destroy the Heavens of the Elder Gods themselves and need help destroying him before he would bring Armageddon to all the realms. He is developing this power because the Dragon King has an negative energy known as Dark Chakra. Rain also told her, that Onaga is trying to obtain his human body form once again as he had in his reign of Outworld millions of years ago, so he can he have his full power for him to have complete control over the realms. After learning this, she then assisted her friends from Earthrealm and their allies and Onaga was defeated once and for all and all who was killed was brought back to life just as Rain stated. Then, Quan Chi resurrected Onaga and Blaze engulfed the Dark Chakra energy that Onaga developed with the help of Quan Chi, which caused him to change into his human form and caused him to become so powerful, he was going to bring Armageddon to all the realms. Jade then aligned herself with the alliance developed by the Elder Gods, The Forces of Light and during the battle of the realms, she battled Tanya to seek revenge for Edenia because of Tanya's betrayal. This is an interesting take on Jade, and the exaggerated features fit with the style nicely. The thing that fascinates me most is the way it is colored. Can you clarify how you did it?
As for the story, great also, but one thing I am not fond of is saying Edenians live around 500 years. I'm sure being descendant from gods would enable them to live longer.

Good question. For the coloring style of the picture, I used certain anime pics to help me with the light source. I did everything on Photoshop and to get clean edges on the shadows and etc, I used Gaussian Blur to make it look very good since it would had took me ages to do it the old fashion way without a tablet. As for the new Edenian age, I changed it a bit because it wouldn't be that interesting to fight a demigod and you can kill them and after all, you can't kill a god so I made them human but live longer since they don't live on Earth. I wanted give MK a new feeling to it and I wish I worked with the MK developers because I have ideas that could boost MK's personality. Now as for Darrius, he is gonna look more badass and have a much cooler personality.

You're welcome. I'm gonna have to post Darrius some time later because I messed up on the proportions and I gotta draw him again, so I'm gonna add Tanya next and then Rain hopefully for now. Sorry man but at least by doing this I can actually add more detail to his appearance.
