An attempt to present a new type of fatality that is character-stage specific where the innate elements of the fighter and background align. Check it out here:
The only thing that I could perceive as even remotely passable is the fact that Rain is using his character-specific element. The idea certainly lent itself to something that we've not exactly seen before, but the final product is dreadfully (but not surprisingly) disappointing, and that's putting it lightly. Honestly, it appears as though the only effort you put into this was utilizing an effect created by someone else and carelessly slapped it into a video, which I assume was also recorded by someone else.
One blatantly obvious error is the fact that, as soon as the water emerges, Sheeva is suddenly stricken motionless. Are we supposed to believe that the inexplicably stationary body of Sheeva somehow exploded without displaying even the simplest of reactions? Somehow, this massive wave of water did not create any sort of impact when colliding with her body, and she, for some bizarre and unseen reason, explodes without showing even the slightest depiction as to why. Did her body absorb the water? If so, then her body should have ballooned. Was she crushed between the combined impacts of the waves colliding from opposite directions? If that's what has occurred, there should have been something done to portray that effect. Incredibly disappointing, especially given the amount of experience you have collected throughout the years. Then again, with your unjustifiable egotism and your blatant disregard for all the constructive criticism that the experienced artists of this forum have afforded you, I would be lying if I said that I'm even remotely surprised by the lack of quality in and the poor execution of your latest disasterpiece.
In the vein of all that precedes you, I know you've already presumed that you have manufactured a flawless product and will argue my points by dishing out infantile and inane insults and gratuitous self-praise. Conduct yourself in whatever manner that aids in getting you to sleep at night. Just remember that you are no more than a disillusioned disappointment to the artistic community. Perhaps one day that reality will set in and you will undergo some sort of personality transformation, though I don't see that as being a remote possibility given your chronic self-worship.
Edit: If you intended to make it appear as though a bolt of lightning caused Sheeva to explode, then I would suggest that you make the actual lightning bolt visible to viewers. Otherwise, this entire fatality just doesn't make any sense. Plainly put, it gives the impression of being created by an amateur artist who found a new toy and wanted to dole out a half-assed product in hopes of garnering positive criticism based purely on special effects. That is all.

I didn't like it. Not one bit.
I really doubt you rendered and animated the water all on your own.
It was a nice idea... but that's about it.

It's a cool idea, but shit's not alligned properly.
The explosion/splash is beside Sheeva, instead of being centered on her. The water almost looks like the game, kinda. Yet almost like you just threw water at the screen you were filming.
I like it. It's better than anything I could do.

Though I find some of the above post overly negative and rude, they have a few good points which I hope you'd consider. Overall it is a nice idea and I like the whole concept of it. ^^

His attitude toward damn near every experienced artist in this forum more than justifies the so-called "overly negative and rude" comments that I posted. I, for one, have offered plenty of constructive criticism over the years regarding the majority of UltimateRyu's submissions and, for the most part, his reception and interpretation of this criticism has been unreasonably haughty and discourteously unappreciative. One should not continue to expect to be treated with respect when one does not treat others respectfully. Thanks for your partially "negative and rude" (and partly unnecessary) response, though.

Please keep in mind that this is not a fake animation in the traditional sense. It was more so to express an idea and to flex some creative muscles to get the juices flowing again.

"We were toying around with an idea for a new Rain fatality and so far this is what we got."
I understand that this is just a muck around project, so I'm not going to into detail on how it could be improved, especially when I have no idea how to use the program(s) you used nor what it was.
So I'm just going to say that I slightly like it just because I enjoy seeing alter existing fatalities on the 3D MK games ever since PiranhaSoldier did it, no matter how little effort it took. While it was clearly just a slap of effects to an existing video shot, I still enjoyed it the first two times. Then I noticed the negative details.

Cool idea for a fatality, but A LOT wrong with it:
. Sheeva just freezes as if she is stunned, or you got to lazy to make her bloat up and explode
. Just an existing tape put together by you with a simple effect almost anyone can do
. Doesn't look professional
. Doesn't seem like it could be real
. The idea is also, is he creating the water from nothing or is it a RAIN specific STAGE specific fatality? It seems if you did this in the belltower it wouldn;t make sense, but the ocean is right by the wasteland.
overall, pretty nice but lacking in a lot of areas.
(Whe you say "we" do you mean yourself or do you have an entourage XD)

Aside from your arrogance UR, you were a really great fake artist back in the day. Come back to us

I agree. Emphasis on 2D, though...
